Scorpene sub delayed by one more year

The method by which you bash india is very similar to our Western Neighbours
I mean Bharat Rakshak
Free country

You sure you are not related to a Pakistani

Its because I have been in this forum for a while and learned so much about India from this forum. Before I am here, my views on India was way different. But many posting, especially the India 2030 video, change my views.

As I said, I'm a Taiwanese American presenting mostly American views. Recently, some white Americans came in here and you could see how their views are the same as mine.

There can be one good reaction. It can be considered as blessing in disguise. India's indigenously developed AIP which will be much more advanced than others generating onboard Hydrogen underwater, which got delayed by one year and will not be available before end 2015 can now be fitted in the last two of the Scorpene subs . Though it has certain limitation at this point and the first batch of this technology will have endurance only for 15 days before subs need to come to surface as against 4 weeks of the one produced by DCNS.
You'll have to learn to walk before you start running. It will be a good idea to use the indigenous AIP unit.learn from ur mistakes n make better ones!!!!

We have SSBN which will induct this year not SSN

Really? What is the name of the SSBN and has it launched any missiles yet? Or is it a SSBN without missiles?

Lets hope that there won't be any delay in the AIP test and production. Otherwise, it won't be such a fortunate delay. Or maybe if there is a further delay, it would be ready for photon torpedoes that India will have in 2018.

But I think you troll same SSBN sticky thread.:what:

There are not confirmation of missile firing from SSBN except firing from pontoon but plan is it will fired from it year end.

we should have bought at least 2 subs off the shlef and rest should have been contracted for local make...at least it would have given IN enough time to master the operational handling of Subs by the time local ones is ready for induction! In fact, this pattern should be followed in all new procurement of high tech defence tech!

Stupid sarkari jokers unable to acquire technology.

Shows what kind of blokes handle our defence.

it will be launched in 2014 and inducted in september 2016. Considering that in 2000 we had no decent ports and infra and due to private entreprenuers we now have. Thats great as pakistans defence budget will not allow any more subs. For china we need to pick up the pace. Modibhai your people are ready lead us to a real rivalry not one with gutterchaaps.

Only good news is we have time,PN is no match for IN and PLAN won't have IOR power projection ability till it has 3 CBGs around 2025.In land we don't have time,we need that infrastructure and arty NOW.

Who looks at PN? But PLAN subs are already operating in our areas of interest and the lack of capable SSKs is a major issue for our naval security. This major mistake in the sub procurement policy by IN now cause big issues for Indias defence and there are not many way outs of it now.

Just imagine how the state of the sub fleet would be today or in the coming years, if IN had made some better choices? We know that the Germans offered U214 subs at lower costs and with AIP in the first sub competition + the upgrade of our U209 subs with AIP. By the fact that we licence produced the U209, which is the base of the U214, it also would had been easier to produce the latter in India than the Scorpene. So we already could operate AIP subs by now, next to the Kilo subs with land attack capability.
But that's not all! If we had gone for a Scorpene deal like the Brazilians, we could get Scorpene hulls build in France and integrate an indigenous nuclear propulsion (based on the Arihant one) into them, with development assistance from France.

So we could not only have got most modern AIP SSKs, but also SSNs with indigenous NP and indigenous SSBNs and all that in useful numbers!

what do you expect with congress? Scorpene hulls are all ready. China floats these type of hulls without fittings and consider it commisioned.
