I would say that this is not only media my friend, as it so happened that some Paramilitary forces personale did surreder to Taliban in SAWAT region before Army came and Kicked ***.

My friend,
I never said that they didn't surrender!!!

Jana,

It is not correct to equate the US deserters with the subcontinent.

They do not have the same josh about the concept of "Nam, Namak and Nishan"!

T-Bird:

Your Title and Headline are misleading:

It's primarily the paramilitary, and not the Army soldiers that are suffering from desertions!

Differentiate Please!
Lol talk about spinning!

He ripped it from this source and purposely didn't mention the link:

Some Frontier Corps jawans desert force

Notice how "some FC corps" is replaced by "SCORES OF PAK SOLDIERS".

T-bird, intentional misrepresentation and slander against the Pak Armed forces will have repercussions.

Assuming you ARE Pakistani... That is treachery. Just as any man abandoning his post is.

Thread is locked, anybody wishing to make a big claim like this should have solid backing to be allowable on this forum. Plain simple lying, like T-bird's will probably not go down with all sections of this forum.

Just wanted to add a post about the NLI.

Unlike other paramilitary forces like the ones involved in fighting in the FATA, the NLI were always very tightly coupled with FCNA under Army's X Corps. Their training and equipment is particularly well suited for high altitude warfare and unlike the Frontier Constabulary or Frontier Corps, they have never been involved in policing the streets.

The training given to NLI, even before its regularization as an infantry regiment of Pakistan Army, was of a different standard altogether than what is available for the two FCs mentioned above.

After their initial training, NLI cadres were sent to specialized schools (Mountain and high altitude warfare schools in Abbotabad and Khapallu respectively) like the rest of Pakistani Army units for training. Overall there is a big difference in the quality, training and motivation of NLI troops versus the FC (even before the Kargil war).

FC desertion is nothing new. The circumstances were as such that these folks were bound to bail when things heated up. Better training, pay and motivation is needed, otherwise the Army will have to do all the work in the area.
