Science Confirms Selfies Are Linked To Mental Disorders

@IrbiS sahaab, i didn't expect you to post pics of the unspeakable.

you can post cat pics instead.

.
Oh come on!!!
I feel the scientists who come up with such theories and proof 're those who have an inferiority complex about their looks.
Its okay to click your own photo. I mean what's the big deal?

In my opinion religious extremists 've mental disorders.
Indonesia: Islamic cleric issues fatwa against selfies

Indonesia considering banning non-virgin girls from graduating high school
(I was shocked when I read this report)

This is mental disorder isnt it??

came on, you must visited Indonesia, and you will feel safer as a woman than in any place in India at 1X24 hours, 365 or 366 days a full round year, even if you wearing a tank top and hot pants at midnight in middle of city streets. No discrimination at school or so, and at universities too. Or if you considering to pursue a career as a professional, as a woman you can get higher positions and salary than you are in India, my self is a woman and i work as an employee in one of one of military contractor company here.

i have long pooh-poohed selfies, much before this research... do i have inferiority complex about my looks?? :D ( though i don't like my teeth ).
No, you dont 've an inferiority complex.
@jamahir I've a hypothesis....
All the iphone users love taking selfies (its based on case studies, @Atanz @Nihonjin1051 and myself  ).
I prefer group selfies, such selfies later become a part of our good memories. I'm sure you too would have been a selfie addict if you were using a mobile.

it is perfectly normal to have your picture taken, by others... it is a matter of talent to be a true photographer and take good pictures of the scenery or situation...
Agree!
however, thrusting oneself beside the human subject for a selfie or having a group selfie or forcing such a situation is unclean and not classy. :-)
Whats wrong with group selfies??? 8-)
I like selfies with good background and those crazyy selfies where someone is making faces.

but very occassionally, a self-picture or two is not bad... one or two, i must stress. :D
Oh come on!
One of my friend used to love posting her selfies on FB and guys used to ga-ga about it....this continued till she got married last year.
She's a pretty looking himachali :-)

we had a thread, remember??
It was my thread...remember?
hehehe

this certainly is also mental disorder... indonesia at present is really a cleaner version of india and pakistan... the mullahs there are essentially deobandi ( orig. deoband mullah college, uttar pradesh state, india ) and one of its indonesian products is the "jemah islamiyah" criminal/reactionary/psychopath group that is now involved in terrorism in syria.

indonesia at one time had progressive communists, even during the modern parts of holland's occupation... in the 60's, the communists were massacred in huge numbers by the reactionary elements among the security forces, guided as ever by usa government... the british socialist, tariq ali's book, "street fighting years", has a few pages about indonesia.

i wish for every mullah/mullan in indonesia to be put before a revolutionary-people's firing squad... it is then that indonesia will have moved back onto steps of true progress.

i only gave a outline but @Indos and @madokafc can fill in the blanks.
I think more than the news that the girls were forced to get virginity tests, the fact that it was happening in Indonesia shocked me. I always believed that Indonesia is a progressive country.

Trust me India isnt as bad as it is projected by international media. :)
I have spent 22 years of my life in India and I can vouch for it. I'm not denying that we dont have an issue but there are many countries which have worst track records compared to India.
But I would love to visit Indonesia someday. :-)
I live in a muslim country and i respect the local culture. But even in the middle east virginity tests are unheard of.

Hey, don't laugh at selfies!!! I took one myself on my last trip a month ago!

OK! So it's only a thumb and quite close-up … but that's because I'm shy!

:p: Tay.

not much, but the news it self is came from two or three months ago, and and if i recall, the local municipal government of Jember city had already cancelled their idea of virginity test because of protest from various people elements, including parents of students, member of Parliament house and even minister of religion affair. So far the only institution who conduct virginity test in Indonesia is the armed forces and National Police department. And i had stated before at other threads, the virginity tests is by product of feudalism leftover on our society in which to preserve the male superiority over female especially at an institution deemed not suitable for woman to work at and both regarded as man only jobs (military and security forces) it has nothing to do with religion or whatsoever, and you will not find it in even in the most puritan nation in Middle east.

It does not make sense at all. Armed forces prefer those who 're athletic. And its a well known fact that hymen membrane breaks under excessive physical stress, infact this could happen to any woman.

I agree!
But the fact that Indonesian authorities were considering it was even more shocking.
