The writer, Taslima Nasreen, had moved to India from Bangladesh in similar circumstances but seems that she faced death threats here too, so she was moved to USA.

Tasleema Nasreen never denied saying/writing the things people took as being blasphemous.

Asia bibi has always denied ever saying the things she has been accused of.

Whether the content of their writings/speech are blasphemous or if blasphemy should be punished (and how it interacts with freedom of speech and other rights) is a separate issue.
