ISLAMABAD (Online): The Supreme Court on Thursday disposed of a petition filed by President Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaff (PTI) youth wing, Abrar-ul-Haq regarding the rigging in his constituency, NA-117, Narowal-III during 11th May elections.
A three-member bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry and Justice Gulzar Ahmed heard the constitutional petition filed by Abrar-ul-Haq under article 184 (3) of the constitution of Pakistan.
However, the SC rejected the petition terming the usage of article 184 (3) as not applicable in his case.
He maintained that if the petitioner has any kind of grievances or objections regarding the polling results, he should consult the Election Tribunal and thus dismissed his plea.
It is pertinent to mention here that Ahsan Iqbal of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) defeated Abrar-ul-Haq from NA-117, Narowal-III with a huge margin in 11th May polls.
Abrar had submitted a petition in the apex court requesting the court to declare elections process in the said constituency un-lawful, illegal and void.
