SC moved to put Gen Shuja Pasha on ECL

Supreme Court on Tuesday was moved to put the name of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lieutenant General Ahmed Shuja Pasha on exit control list. The petition filed by missing persons’ counsel Tariq Asad Advocate said Pasha is responsible for thousands people going missing, as these people were removed at his behest. The petition states that Pasha is also responsible for the other people also going missing from Adyala jail. The petitioner pleaded the court that Director General of the premier spy agency, after his retirement slated on March 18, may go abroad; hence, there will be difficulty in bringing the facts to the fore from him being out of the country. Therefore, his name needs to be put on the ECL, the petition said. Ahmed Shuja Pasha is being retired on coming Sunday.


(Argh... I hate such ppl.. If this person really thought this to be the case, why didnt he move such a petition when Gen Pasha was in power.... They didnt have the guts to do it then..shows their lack of moral character and courage,,,Now tht this man is getting retired, everyone is after him..including ppl like Hamid Mir... For God's sake, give this man a break..and let him live peacefully atleast after retirement... Tariq Asad couldnt move such a petition to put Hussain Haqqani's name on ECL , against whom, a serious inquiry is going...no one had any prob when a known traitor Haqqani was released and moved abroad, but now they want Gen Pasha's name to be put on ECL... )

Frankly ECL is a way of humiliating anyone for personal goals. Nothing positive has ever come up with such tactics, as most ppl get clean chit from courts eventually.

Not even that much generosity was accorded to the people Pasha kidnapped and held without trial and in many cases had them killed at will. Pasha is just being asked to stand trial.

Pasha is IN power till the 18th and thats why it had to be done before he takes off for cozy retirement in some western country.

I think anyone who ever enjoyed any important posts in civil or Army should not be allowed to leave the country...
They do have some very important information which should not be allowed to give lectures outside country and sell important information about the country for some $$'s..

But on the other hand i think this gen. Pasha did a great job as ISI head and that is the reason USA and west is against this man....

if you see the statements few months back USA was saying WOT will get effected if he gets retirement, blah blah blah...

now you can see the news that USA and West felt relax on his retirement ...

It would be very immature of our democracy to uphold this petition. Those of you that are critical of our security forces are doing exactly what Americans and Indians want you to do.

Our ISI and army may not be perfect but relatively speaking they are probably two of the more professional institutions in the country.

It is very naive for some of you to follow the mantra that is pushed to us by the west and Indians. Look at the naive young Libyan idiots and the state of their country after they listened to the west. Now they have democracy?? Is that what you want for Pakistan?

A Pakistan even more to the mercy of Americans and Indians??

Those of you that are speculating about Pasha's involvement with cases of people dissapearing are just repeating what Indians and Americans are saying.
