Unlike India, Taiwan is smart enough not to try and attack China when they are much weaker.

We need to control more politicians in Taiwan, if we can provoke Taiwan into firing the first shot, then we will have the advantage of "defensive action" which rules out any possible sanctions against us.

Once we take out their airfields using our huge numbers of missiles, they'll be fighting against a vastly superior force without any air cover.

And they'll be fighting against pretty much the entire Chinese Air Force and Navy as well. Taiwan's developed areas are not that spread out, they are mostly an urbanized province, very vulnerable to bombing.

Apart from our missiles, air force and navy, how many troops do you think we'll be able to land in Taiwan at the early stages of the war?

Taiwan's National Security Bureau Director Tsai Der-sheng (蔡得勝) yesterday contradicted a statement made by Minister of National Defense Yen Ming (嚴明) on how long the country could withstand a Chinese attack.

Yen had said last week that Taiwan could survive “at least one month,” should China invade, without help from the US, adding the estimate was based on conclusions drawn from various war games.

Tsai was responding a request from Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) Legislator Chien Tung-ming (簡東明) at a meeting of the legislature’s Foreign Affairs and National Defense Committee yesterday to comment on Yen’s remarks.

“The Ministry of National Defense has a better understanding of the military strength of both sides, so it said Taiwan’s military will be able to withstand a Chinese attack for one month. Yet whether the nation is capable of resisting for a month depends on the public’s will to resist an invasion. If everyone wants to leave, [Taiwan] might not be able to withstand for a month,” Tsai said.

Which was contradicted by their own National Security Bureau Director, who said that it would be less than a month. And even that is quite generous comparing the balance of power across the straits.

Regardless of the timing though, Taiwan has no hope of winning in a war against the PRC, even they have admitted it themselves.

Who do these guys think they are? The US military?

If Taiwan lasted more than 24 hours under a FULL SCALE military blitz by the PLA, I would say Taiwan has done well.

If the PLA goes easy then they might last a week. It all depends how ruthless the PLA wants to be.
