Save India - Put Indian lives above foreign profits

some senior chinese members (like cardsharp etc) about 2 month ago....

C'mon buddy... I was expecting a more serious response from you. But nevertheless until you get me a report it is useless just to rely on some individual's opinions. As others have pointed out it is just Greenpeace who has been promoting negative reports about the nuclear reactors.

Read this IAEA ppt about the AREVA recators:
http://www.iaea.org/NuclearPower/Downloads/INPRO/Files/2010-Feb-DF-WS/15-Teller.pdf

The only concern is that this specific reactor capacity is new and untested. But the French are leaders in nuclear power generation and they haven't had any major mishaps since. Some concerns are valid in terms of the safety of nuclear plants which is nothing more or nothing less than the danger you would face in any other power plant for that matter.

Also read this PR about the US certification of AREVA's control and safety systems which was the only concern some experts had on the design.
Areva wins U.S. approval for nuclear safety system

The construction of the plants is also for the people. But I do agree that it holds more of a negative side because of the effect that it could give after a natural disaster is immense

No one can save bharat from economic meltdown. Inflation growing. People lost hope. Industry in danger after labor problems. There is no social security in India.

Some indications that you have no idea what you are BS'ing about :
1. Food inflation now 9.5% (3 months low)
2. Inflation about to come down to near 7% level in few months.
3. INDIA poised to grow at >8.5% this year. (Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council have already prepared their figures)
4. China has more inflation then india ( WPI )
5. Do you have an iota of idea how much influence inflation has effect on GDP growth rates ?
6. INDIANS are the most optimistic in the world ( CHeck google for the world survey)
7. Industry in danger after labour Problems ? HUH ? *cough**smoke something good*

PERIOD.

.
we are not that dump!
C'mon! Election are in the corner! Even if there is something wrong with the reactors the opposition will
Tear it apart and show it to us!

58368 has already signed???
target - 100000.

i think there is something true???

100,000 signatures in India don't mean anything in INdia.....what should be questioned is the location....what is so hard to find a area of 50 square miles away from any civilians (tough but needs to be done for public safety), earth quake free zone, tsunami free zone, etc....lack of foresight in government planning...and these are the same jokers who say everything is alright yaar....and hate when questions are asked....time to start torturing these incompetent bureaucrats....

Dude wtf? Idiotic people like you are spreading paranoia without knowing anything. Nuclear reactors are one of the cleanest and safest ways to produce energy. Why do you want to make a mountain out of a mole hill? Have you seen the friggin rehab package for the people? It's the best one I've ever seen till date. WE.NEED.THIS. It's not for foreign profits. It is so we can ensure we don't friggin go into massive shortages as we enter this decade. So please get a life. Stop becoming nuclear scientists.

. .
folks ! why the hell are we wasting time in discussing such a serious issue in vague terms ? Those who are opposed to the plant, plz post concrete facts why should we sign it ? In the absence of facts it seems the author is begging for our signs!!

This reactor is so safe that it can take a Direct hit from boeing 747as when it was been developed 9/11 like situation was kept in mind...& a similar type of reactor is at completion stage in Finland...it is said about this reactor that anything wrong inside doesnt effect outside & anything wrong outside doesnt effect inside...if there is a safest reactor which is available on earth it is this its is this it is this....

What negative side? This is a common scare tactic used since most people fear what they do not understand. They are conveniently using the argument - what if? as in "what if an earthquake like that which happened in Japan happens here & what if it is followed by a similar Tsunami? .The fact that the nuclear plants are not in a similar seismological region as those in Japan's is conveniently glossed over. Let me point out that if something similar did indeed occur in India, damage to a nuclear plant will be the least of our concerns. A 9.0 earthquake would bring down pretty much all buildings anywhere in India ( unlike in Japan) and the death toll from that would be horrendous. A tsunami of the like that hit Japan would complete the destruction leaving the area worse off than in an event of a nuclear accident. There will be nobody living to worry about a nuclear fallout.

This "what if" guys really get my goat. What if an asteroid hit the nuclear plant ? Would a nuclear leak be on the top most of anyone's concerns in such an eventuality. This is simply organised propaganda by interested parties, some of who are doing it for political & personal gains. Greenpeace & other such organisations would have people (in India of course) live without electricity so that their Utopian dream survives. If any one wants to support them, I suggest you disconnect every electrical appliance that you use including the one that is used to access the Internet. Will make the world a saner place for the rest of us.

The same thing came to my mail and this was the reply I gave to it ;

The findings of TISS on how the Jaitapur plant is detrimental has already been debunked and proved wrong by the joint studies of NPCIL and the Ministry of Environment.

NPCIL debunks Tiss findings on Jaitapur nuclear plant - Mumbai - DNA

And I believe that India cannot be dependent on the Arab countries for our oil and nuke energy is the most cleanest and safest if looked from a long term perspective.

I dont support this greenpeace campaign which always have the single motive of blocking any development plans taking place and after all who wants to sit with no electricity to power the AC/Fan on a summer afternoon.

Another impoertant thing these GP hippies should note is that Japan withstood the Quake - it was only the Tsunami that caused this problem and as far as Jaitapur is concerned there is no sea for Tsunami to occur as Jaitapur is on an estuary inside the coast and even the location of Jaitapur near the Arabian sea coast lessens the chance for Tsunamis.

.
Whats the proof of the reactors r not faulty??

Are you stupid? What do you mean by proof? Before buying a car do you ask for proof that it's not faulty? They have been tested and you can trust them. How are they supposed to prove to you? Simulate a freaking tsunami?

.
Plz stop this human right people from stoping all the devlopment projects... At times i think they are working for enemy countries...
If there is load shedding in future this same people will come out and raise slogan against the government....
