Saudis May Buy Arleigh Burke Class Destroyer

actually, when Iranians take pride in their pre-Islamic history, they're almost always referring to the Achemenid dynasty not the sassanid dynasty. The Iranian society under the Achemenid dynasty was a much more progressive society then the one under the sassanid empire. Don't wanna bore you to death so I'll make it short. The sassanids were a Zoroastrian version of the Islamic republic (much worse actually).

And I don't see how anybody here referred to Iran's pre-Islamic empires! Persian made an insulting comment and another Iranian member talked about Hamas. Nothing about the sassanids etc...

Persian's comment shouldn't be looked at in a vaccume btw. When you look at it in context, you can undestand his anger. KSA has asked the US to bomb Iran and has even allowed Israel to use its airspace against Iran. You guys are also buying weapons as if Iran is a super power and you need to get ready for an un-avoidable and inevitable future invasion!!!! Iran's military budget is less than its education and health budgets. It's tiny and has been like this for decades. I don't understand why KSA sees Iran as a threat lol
If you're concerned about the nuke issue then it's the same case. Do you think Iran is going to nuke Meccah and Medina?

Saudi Arabia will never give itsair space to Israel and the report cake from an Israeli website are you really going to believe that?

There are Saudi navy service men training in Singapore right now at least that is what the news was in the Saudi forum.

I have no problem had he said what he said in a civilized manner . no need for names calling and things like that . he resulted to a comment about camels and saudi special forces which was very childish and stupid .

as for politics and what you said about his comment being part of a context . Iran is not innocent here . Iran meddles in our internal affaires and in Arab affaires in general .. it's not like Saudi Arabia is bullying poor Iran and provoking her with theses deals .if any thing Iran is is the one who's pursuing a "hawkish" foreign policy not us . Ever since the revolution, the calls for the "export of the Islamic revolution" have always made us uncomfortable and made us look at Iran with a very suspicious eye . the latest is a friday sermon in Tehran by some cleric (forgot his name) who said that Bahrain needs an "islamic conquest" ! . that's my friend is provocation .

Friday sermons in Iran are very significant .. they are one of the tools of the Iranian government to spread propaganda . the cleric's name is Ahmad janati and he's not any cleric, he's part of the government ( holds seats in the Guardian Council, Expediency Discernment Council, and Assembly of Experts. ) .

of course I am
KSA openly considers Iran a threat and she is doing something about it (buying crazy amount of weapons, allying with Iran's enemies etc...). The whole shia vs sunni thing is not a small matter either. The Kingdom has a very unclear foreign policy. It neither wants to be against Israel and the US and it also doesn't want to be friends with them either. It also doesn't want Iran to destroy the statu quo. This gives me more than enough reason to accept the wikileaks reports.

we do meddle into the affairs of Iraq and Lebanon, but not in KSA. KSA is neither a shia country nor is it in Iran's interests to try and de-stabalize the country. The US' ultimate purpose for being in the region is to secure the oil routes and the oil wells of KSA. If Iran tries to de-stablize KSA, the Americans will have absolutely no choice but to attack Iran. And as I said before, there are not enough shias in KSA for Iran to gain any real advantage at the moment.

However, our meddling into the affairs of other countrys are non of KSA's business. KSA should start being pragmatic and think long term. There is no way that Iran will ever stop meddling into Iraqi and Lebanese affairs. What that cleric says about Bahrain is meaningless. Actions are louder than words and currently it's KSA that is occupying Bahrain not Iran. Also, the country is majority shia. Whether or not they're trying to ally themselves with Iran has very little to do with you. How does Bahrain falling under the sphere of Iran going to endanger Saudi Arabia? Do you think sending soldiers will help your cause or Iran's cause in the long term (by making shias angry at KSA)?

Again, KSA has an extremely unclear foreign policy. Some actions resemble theocratic Iran, some actions resemble a liberal democracy while others resemble the policies of the Soviet Union (e.g. trying to bring Bahrain under your sphere of influence by sending in the military and trying to change the demographics of the society).

I find it very ironic that you're concerned about this. An Iranian cleric is talking about Bahrain. What's it to Saudi Arabia? I completely understand the strategic importance of Bahrain to KSA but to come out and publicly criticize Iran over the statement, while occupying the country politically and militarilly is very comical and extremely hypocritical.

your destroyer looks cool
but PLEASE ALSO PURCHASE 12-15 SUBMARINES
ALTHOUGH U HAVE ANTI SUBMARINE EQUIPMENTS BUT IF 1 SUBMARINE WILL REACH AT YOUR SEA SHORE THIS WILL DESTROY YOUR WHOLE NAVAL POWER
ISRAEL IS NOW PURCHASING MORE 3 TYPE 212 CLASS SUBS FROM GERMANY
IRAN IS ALSO INDUCTING SELF MADE SMALL SUBS INTO HIS FLEET .
SAUDIS MUST TO ADD SUBS INTO HIS FLEET

In addition to its military budget Iran spends billions upon billions on ballistic missile program, nucleear program and support of terrrorism and Shia movements. KSA has large Shia population no wonder they are scared.

show me the numbers if you know so much. Even with the nuke program, Iran's budget is still smaller than its health and education spending.

support of terrorism or your enemies? We've discussed this before. Hezbollah is democratically voted in by the people of Lebanon. They have seats in the parliament and have legitamacy. If killing innocent civilians is a standard for being called a terrorist group, then Israel is ahead of Hezbollah by a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong margin.

Shias are also only 10 percent of KSA. Say half of them would be open to Iran helping them. what would 5 percent be able to do? There is nothing in it for Iran at this point. When the US leaves the country completely then Iran will be able to go in and cause havoc but that's not gonna happen for another decade or two.

You think these ballistic missiles that Iran is launching almost daily are not expensive? LOL.

Even with the nuke program, Iran's budget is still smaller than its health and education spending.
"Education" means sending students to Russia to study ballistic missiles and nuclear physics. In same time 80% of Iran's exposrt is still crude oil, just like 40 years ago.

support of terrorism or your enemies?
Terrorism. Those who blow up buses and fire rockets indiscriminately at towns are terrorists. Pure and simple.

Shias are also only 10 percent of KSA. Say half of them would be open to Iran helping them. what would 5 percent be able to do?
Yet they live in strategic oil regions. And Arab Spring showed just how fragile are dictatroships. In addition KSA are wahhabis who hate shias on ideological basis.

god why are you always such a dumb baboon?
We produce more science than you and our growth is the fastest on the planet. We're ranked higher than many European countries. So if you're insulting Iran, than you're much worse.

Our non oil exports reached 35-40 billion this year and we still have a long way to go. Wait for the year end confirmation from the world bank. The oil will only be 70 percent of the exports this year but you're being a fool by not looking at the whole GDP. Oil last year brought in 50-60 billion dollars while the Gdp was 488 billion nominal and 931 billion PPP. Plus, every year oil exports are increasing while the increase in non oil is not matching it but it's increasing as well. This year we will have a record profit of 100 billion from oil and a record profit from natural gas as well. Our non oil has also reached an all time high. The growth is not great but it's still growth under 4 rounds of UN sanctions.

Again, killing civilians doesn't make you a terrorist. Israel is far more efficient when it comes to blowing up children and buses. They have the legitimacy of the people and are elcted to the parliament of Lebanon. They can not be called a terrorist org under any defnition.

Bahrain and Tunisia aren't KSA. The Shias are useless to Iran at this point

Edit
you still haven't proved your theory

Iran's military spending has never been higher than its education and health budgets which are hovering around 5% of GDP each year (cept in the Iran-Iraq war obviously).
