What's new

Saudis may buy 48 Rafales In Addition to EF.

I find smtg hilarious
we Iranians and arabs ourselves are saying that we are each others enemies and here you guys are desperately trying to prove that we are not!!!!!!!

I would highly recomend NOT to Turn my Thread into Arabs vs Iranians .

There is no enemity.

24 Additional Typhoons are also being Reported , that would Bring RSAF's Total Typhoon Inventory to 96 which Indeed is a Potent Fleet.

Adding F-15S and Rafale (If gone through the deal ) will Make RSAF a formidable Force.

Typhoon is a BOMB Truck !

Yes well , in modern warfare you also need technologically advance weapons , the technilogical gap cannot exceed 1 generation , and our forces are almost 1.5 generation or almost 2 generation behind in most of the areas ....

Pakistan Air defence 2/10
Pakistan Airforce 5.5/10 (This will be 7/10 with awacs & Thunder & F16 C/D)
Pakistan Army 6/10
Pakistan Navy 3/10 (With new 7 Subs, 4-8 more frigates we can say its 6/10)
Pakistan R&D 2/10
Man Power 10/10

In ww2 Turkish had large man power buy their weapons were older and they lacked airforce , size means nothing as much as the technology used in your weapons

Also in past Turkish lost their entire Navy , to British just becasue I believe British ships were faster - they could outrun turkish sea vessels and had longer rane for fire power

In 1971 we also had balls just no airplane fighters in East Pakistan and did not had ships in Bangladesh

Bravery is one thing but you also need advance weapons to fight modern day wars

 AP frankly speaking teray saath koi pora nahe utar sakhta :bunny:

Think of it as an insurance policy to protect their wealth.

Wealth is being protected quite efficiently by their friends through bases in and around the country, specially the rigs that generate all the wealth.

Cheers.

from who?
No muslim country on the planet is going to attack them and no Western country has a reason to do so since they have already bent over.

No country should draw its National Security policy upon one Major threat , specially of the Country is Like KSA.

That is True that no Muslim country will ever will do an advanture against them neither any westerns because of the Devestating response from Muslims .

Still " Keep your sowrds and Horses Ready " to help others if they need it.

Think of a IndoPak War scenario and if PAF could get hold of some of these birds !

Indian Air Force would need to find a Place to hide somewhere.

I think Saudi are going thru a knee jerk reaction phase , they were rediuculed by all the world and all their citizens are under great surveillance and they have become a bit defensive minded

Seeing Iraq destroyed in front of their eyes they are a bit worried nation so they are investing heavily into weapons to secure their country

What are you saying, a country like Saudi Arabia should have no miltary to safe guard it's wealth and or intrests? Your logic is very strange, look at the United States, France, Russia, and China, is anyone going to attack them? No, so why do they spend so much on their militaries? Firstly a strong military acts like a deterrence, if the deterrence fails than the said country can protect itself and its intrests, not only that but a country with a strong military has influence.

from who?

There are a number of countries that dislike the Saudis and one of them is Iran; moreover, there are a number of countres that would love to get ther hands on Saudi Arabia's oil. One thing you fail to understand is allies change, just because to United States and Saudi Arabia are allies today doesn't mean they will be allies tomorow, a great example of this would be Iraq, beleive it or not Iraq and The United States had good relations, one could even say they were allies. Case in Point, the United States isn't always going to be there, nor are the Saudis ammune to attack.

I don't know If RSAF needs Rafales .
wouldn't that create a logistical nightmare , with the maintenance and spire parts of different aircraft from 3 different countries ?
what do you think Black_Blood ?

Currently RSAF is using Tornados , F-15's , Typhoons.

Now lets think that RSAF inducts Rafale too & yes it would create some technical issues in terms of repairs and maintenance but that can be dealt with asking France to Provide you a home Repairs and Maintenance facillity .

Typhoons , Hawk Trainer , Tornados are directly linked to BAE systems and as far as i am aware of the Typhoon program the Saudi Air force is eying a home assembly line for Typhoons which will come in handy.

RSAF already has a F-15 facility which will still do its work properly.
Rafale is the only platform you need to worry about and i think when you think about defense , you wont worry about spending some money on it.

RSAF has no issues with technical expertise as they can Employ Technical staff from Pakistan if needed.

Now the advantage of operating Multiple platforms will end up in great understanding of the technology trends and technical know how which will help you guys to build a stronger air force & it is good for Pakistan too ;)

PAF at one time was operating:
F-16A/B
Mirage III/IV
F-6 Farmer
A-5 Fantan
F-7 Skybolt

6 Platforms at the same time from which two were twin Engine jets and they were from 3 different countries.
Operating Multi platforms as its own pros an cons but at the end of the day it improves your Reliability and Multirole capabilities.

Take care :pakistan:

Thanks for the warm welcome brother , I'll Introduce my self in the link that you've provided insha'Allah .

It's Interesting to know that PAF used to operate 6 different platforms at the same time !

the RSAF could do the same with the help of friends and brothers if needed . but still , the possibility of this back firing is REAL , and I'm sure our officials are aware of that .

thanks again black blood for this thread , I'm sure I'll have a good time here .
