One will safeguard Jordan's King Abdullah against potential Syrian or Iranian reprisals from Syria or Iraq.

To safeguard? Are they serious? Journalists are so ignorant in military domain. It wouldn't kill them to preview JAF Wikipedia before writing articles.

Iranian presidential election, 2009 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Iran's tenth presidential election was held on 12 June 2009, with incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad running against three challengers. The next morning the Islamic Republic News Agency, Iran's official news agency, announced that with two-thirds of the votes counted, Ahmadinejad had won the election with 62% of the votes cast, and that Mir-Hossein Mousavi had received 34% of the votes cast. There were large irregularities in the results and people were surprised by them, which resulted in protests gathering millions of Iranians in every Iranian city and around the world.

Many Iranian figures directly supported the protests and declared the votes were fraudulent. Among them, many film directors like Jafar Panahi (who was consequently banned from making movies for 20 years and condemned to 6 years imprisonment),

Mohammad Rasoulof (also condemned to 6 years imprisonment), actors and actresses like Pegah Ahangarani (who was consequently imprisoned), Ramin Parchami (who was consequently condemned to one year imprisonment), sportsmen like the whole Iran national football team who wore green wristbands in their game against South Korea to support the movement, scholars like Mostafa Tajzadeh, Mohsen Aminzadeh, Akbar Ganji, Mohsen Sazegara, many religious figures like Mohsen Kadivar, Grand Ayatollah Yousef Saanei, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Mohammad Dastgheib Shirazi, traditional singers like Mohammad Reza Shajarian, defected Basiji and Iranian Revolutionary Guards like Amir Farshad Ebrahimi and those who confessed with covered faces.

A letter from the Interior Ministry was also exposed, showing the alleged real votes (Mousavi won with 20,000,000 votes followed by Karroubi who had 14,000,000 and Ahmadinejad only had 5,500,000).

I think our Iranian friends are deluding themselves before any others by claiming they have democracy. If this regime were democratic, then what's the meaning of dictatorship?!

Legend, any update? Media doesn't seem to be interested at all. Any live sources or channels you could recommend?

Iran is identified as a terrorist state by many countries especially the western ones not KSA.

Iran and Terrorism - State Sponsored Terrorism in Iran
Let's not say that mate. Let's be fair and without prejudice.

The Yanks have really hyped up this list of "States sponsoring terrorism"

IMAGINE>.... If there were a list "States subservient to America"

What do you say? Then there would be only two columns on the page. American lap-dogs or terrorists!

I'd recommend we stay away from this particular topic, and handle each situation individually!

Send me some lovin for being so judicious :)

such news hardly to find on the internet its highly confidential but I will keep you updated.
as for now GCC and turkey on high alert. people are talking about turkey strike on syria. some others are talking about iran blocking Hormuz striate. Geneva meeting is going to take place this morning many thing will be exposed after the meeting so lets wait and observe.

1) Saudi Arabia NEVER demanded democracy in other countries, specially not Syria.
2) If Umayyad, Abbasid, Ottoman or Safavid dynasties exist today, what do you think their citizens would be called? They would be called by the dynasty name. Its a name not an identity, not all people have identity issues like the mythical IRANIC race.
Don't know about Umayyad,Abbasid or Ottomans, but Iran during the Safavid rule was called 'Persia' not 'Safavid Irania' aka Saudi Arabia.;)

F*** those data, they are provided by western intelligence.I never said Iran is a perfect democracy, because it's not,but comparing with Saudi Arabia,Iran is way better. But KSA is enjoying good relations with west so it is not being demonized by the west, but we are.
About that terrorism data, well f*** that too.US itself is largest sponsor of terrorism and is using the term terrorism to make a bogeyman for its people and to bully the world. So don't copy/paste those fake data here anymore

Syria troops mass on Turkey border

Tension rises as envoys scramble to save peace conference

The Free Syrian Army said on Friday that Syrian troops were massing near the Turkish border amid tensions since Syria’s downing of a Turkish jet last week. “There are military units massing 15 kilometres or slightly more, from the Turkish border, in the northern region,” of Syria, FSA supreme military council head Mustafa Al Shaikh said.

Asked to comment, a Syrian foreign ministry spokesman reported: “No hostile intentions from the Syrian side.”

Al Shaikh said that around 2,500 troops backed by 170 tanks and other vehicles were stationed at the border, roughly 25km from Aleppo. Al Shaikh said the troop build-up could be a “show of force against the Turkish military, which increased its presence on the Syrian border” after warplane incident.

“Fearing Turkish military intervention, the Syrian military proceeded to mobilise its forces,” he said. But he said the troop build-up might equally be in preparation for an operation inside Syria. “Another possibility ... may be a crackdown in Aleppo countryside,” he said.

Meanwhile, dozens of civilians were killed across the country on Friday, but most of the deaths were in Douma, a suburb of Damascus and Deir Al Zour. The dead included three children and five members of a single family.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that more than 125 civilians in fighting on Thursday alone.

International mediator Kofi Annan said on Friday he was “optimistic” that ministerial crisis talks being held on Saturday would produce an acceptable outcome.

But envoys who had gathered in Geneva were huddled in private meetings on Friday trying to come up with ways to break the deadlock on Syria’s political transition after Russia proposed changes to Annan’s plan.
