ISIS will not be able to march into Saudi Arabia and occupy territory like it did in Iraq, but, as the OP points out, the real threat to the Saudis and neighboring countries is the creation of local 'cells' that will carry out terrorist attacks from within and destabilize the country.

but aren't ISIS supposedly a pro saudi and anti iran faction? another thing that helps terrorism flourish is frustration,grievances & poverty.

i don't think Saudis have any of the three mentioned problem to such a degree that local "cells" can cause a whole TTP type or ISIS type movement.

Saudi Arabia has deployed 30k troops on its border with Iraq months ago. RSAF has a base full of birds over there as well. I don't know what was the intention of the Times Newspaper and its unknown reporter publishing such false news.

You guys should just air raiding them in Iraq, would be good target practice and would push them away from the border.

I would suggest Lets wait and watch ... things might be different from our expectations ... but if the fight between KSA and ISIS cost any Pakistani soldier life .. than army should be ready for heavy criticism from media..

till than :pop::pop::alcoholic::alcoholic:

Pak troops to defend S Arabia

Saudi Arabia has deployed thousands of troops from Egypt and Pakistan along its frontier with Iraq, amid fears of an invasion by the al-Qaeda splinter group that has declared a radical Islamic state across the border, reported The Times on Saturday.
Saudi Arabia has been strengthening its border defences since the crisis in Iraq began. Panicked by the advance of the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (Isis), Riyadh has taken the drastic step of calling in military assistance from its close allies to shore up the porous 500-mile border, Gulf security sources said. Saudi Arabia spent an estimated 35 billion pounds sterling on defence last year, leapfrogging Britain as the world’s fourth-largest military spender. This massive outlay highlights Riyadh’s unease.
