You are 100% correct but the problem is we buy the carriages rather than produce them. We don't put our own effort into anything so costs are always higher.

I was in Morocco a couple of years ago and the trains were lovely even though I bet all that was imported. It was cheap too. The railway stations were modern and had great architecture.

My family has used the train from Makkah and Madinah, the standard is as good as you'll get anywhere in the world.

Just sell 70% of Pakistan Railways to Turkish State Railways and let them modernize and turn around this pathetic state enterprise. Pakistan will save almost a billion dollars a year right away.

If you can’t run an organization, then it’s better to hand it to someone who can do a better job and save money in the process. In fact, Pakistan is one of the few countries that continues to nationalize SOEs that everyone else has long figured out is a waste of money and cesspool of corruption and nepotism.

Its not really about ego in Pakistan. Its more about corrupt vested political interests. Public sector companies like railways, steel mills, PIA have huge employee unions that were themselves filled up by political appointees. Basically PPP, PML and MQM all managed to stuff in their party workers as ghost employees in these organizations. Now these employees are a cancer that fight tooth and nail whenever there is any talk of privatization.

PTCL used to be the same. Privatization turned it around.

Brilliant as always. You have solved the major problems any such projects faces i.e. leather seats, outfits for staff and marble decor. Now we just have to solve the very minor issues of actual high speed trains, tracks, infrastructure etc. But lets not get these pesky issues and their costs get in the way of our cartoonish plans.

Please tell us the truth, were you an advisor to IK during his campaign? Because this brilliant plan seems to originate from the same brilliant mind that promised end of corruption in 90 days and 1 crore jobs.

i am not using any govt post so there is no chance that i am doing corruption,corrupts are those who are using public offices and destroying country through mismanagement and results are becoming more evident everyday,what is achievement of this govt which justifies their honesty

We got our own engineers to do the job. Many Pakistani engineers worked in the Harmain Railway project and even in Riyadh Metro project there is a sizeable number of Pakistani engineers.
For consultation we can definitely afford Spanish.
