Authority? Do I need to be an Arab or Pakistani, or have a degree, to re-post an article about Saudi-Pakistan affairs in a relevant forum? As for discussion, the only stance I've taken, so far, is to praise the Saudis - does that make me the "pimp daddy" of the House of Saud? The rest have been asking about Pakistani opinions or responding to personal attacks.

No he didn't. It was banned by Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) himself. Some people who didn't heard Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) instruction still indulged in such practices after His death. So Hazrat Omar made sure that it was banned properly.
