I believe it is necessary that we recognize that Saudi is barely the nation muslims around the world expect it to be. I think criticism can benefit people and if Saudis look at this criticism as positive, and an initiative to improve themselves then no one would be happier than us critics of Saudia.

Saudi is internally theocratic and externally (sorry to say) a pussy except when it comes to sectarian fights. No strong foreign policy reserved for USA or Israel but suppressing the shias locally. The planned hanging of a shia activist proves the heavy handedness with which Saudia treats its minority. Treating Iran as an enemy is far better than treating its own citizens like ants to be crushed beneath feet.

Saudia is exactly the opposite of what a modern Islamic state should be. It should be internally secular and democratic while being aggressive in its foreign policy and advocating muslim interests globally. I think Saudis need to do some serious critical introspection and decide what is the right policy for said nation. The shia and sunni argument can only be put to rest by Saudia. I hope it takes steps in this regard.

You are always welcome. Over the matter of a heavier mock outrage, well you are thinking too much military style. In civil life, egos get hurt and emotions are damaged. I guess it is easier in military doing it since the ego in military is shared by all. However my particular problem with the Saudi Princes is based on the notion that they spend lavishly in cities such as London and they have this opportunity because they receive funding and monthly stipends from the oil revenue. You can see their contempt and arrogance in London, where they drive with their fast cars and don't even bother to park in the correct lane and find it amusing when they receive a ticket fine. The prostitution racket of high class escorts are catered especially for Saudi Princes and anyone who actually lives in the west can deliberate how notorious this actually is. What really annoys me greatly is that they force strict laws on their own citizens, however when they leave their country for a vacation drugs, prostitution and alcohol becomes the general norm. Anyone who calls this a myth is an apologists and too shameful to admit the ground realities of these scoundrels. The grave lies in front of you and no money in this dunya (world) will save you from the wrath of Allah.

The reason why some Arabs might defend their leaders/regimes might be because a lot of nonsense/propaganda is made up about those leaders/regimes by tabloids, mainly from the West? That or very inaccurate reports? Nobody equates the foolish actions of some princes to the whole population of Arabia, however its about time the Al Saud family learns a lesson of humility. Why should 15,000 members of a family have the right to be above the law, when every other citizen would be punished if the broke the law.
