Saudi, Iran Arms Deals Expectations at MAKS 2015 Show

the US's loss, Russia's gain :enjoy:

Mi-28 is better than AH-1Z. AH-1Z has no radar. Mi-28 has radar.

If radar is an indication of being superior, Here is AH-1Z milimetric wave radar for you...

We can't buy arms for 5 years !

I think Iran will be gearing to scoup Su35 as and when allowed. However IMO, since Iran already has a sqd or two of Mig29's. What Iran can do in the 5 year wait period is ask Russia for spares (and in guise, upgrade kits) for their current Mig29's and ask Russians to establish complete overhaul (and assembly) facility for them in Iran. Mig is currently under pressure for new sales. So I don't think they will object to any proposal from the Iranian side. Once the 5 year wait is over you can do a "Formal" agreement to manufacture 100-150 Mig29s in Iran.

The benefit of going for mig29 (over a Su35) at the moment is that Iran already has experience with Mig29 so they have trained pilots, trained ground crew and also they tried to overhaul them indigenously. So basically there are already ppl in Iran with experience on Mig29. Plus the sanctions limit "SHOULD" not stop the sale of spares equipment (and in guise upgrade kits) as they endanger current flight operations. My 2 cents :)

Saudi Arabia has traditionally used American hardware. Can't see Saudi Arabia getting Iskander let alone Ka-52. Plus, Russia would be wary of sensitive military technology acquired by the US via Saudi Arabia. An American counter mortar radar was acquired by Russia when NAF captured Debaltsevo.

That is about to change.
A 2 billion dollar investment was made by Saudi Arabia in Russia a month ago.
From the defense minister himself.

So..... U know !

Pakistan has never been that much of a US customer. F-16s okay but they were basically paid by US taxpayers, likewise with Iraq's F-16s. JF-17, not US, in fact powered by Russian engines. Al Khalid, not US. Subs and warships, not US. AWACs, not US. Helicopters, nothing from the US since the 1980s.

Good,
on the contrary Pakistan has used a lot of russian technology ( via China ).

. . . . . .
means

if Iraq was free and in proper healthy form;
it would NEVER have paid that money on those terms for those planes;
It could have gotten a better deal from anywhere else in the world.
It's corruption my friend not they have been in bad situation.

Some said they paid more than 200 million per piece some other said no it was regular price of 50 million per craft any way that deal already sent to the Integrity Commission for investigation.
