Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh, Saudi Arabia's grand mufti.

RIYADH: The Kingdom’s Grand Mufti, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh, yesterday denounced attacks on diplomats and embassies as un-Islamic after deadly protests against a US-made anti-Islam film swept the Middle East.
At the same time, he called on the international community to take steps to criminalize any act of abusing great prophets and messengers such as Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them).
In a statement issued yesterday, Al-Asheikh also appealed to world Muslims to react to any attempt to denigrate Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) by strictly adhering to the values advocated by the Prophet (pbuh) instead of unleashing violence against innocent people, the SPA reported.
“Condemnation of the attempts to abuse the Prophet (pbuh) should be within the Law of Allah and Sunnah of the Prophet. The Muslims should not shed the blood of innocent people, or vandalize properties or of public institutions,” the Grand Mufti said.
The mufti said the hatred of Islam through such movies would not harm the great personality of the Prophet (pbuh) or any aspect of Islam but would only backfire on the people who spread venomous ideas.
"Such animosity only helps in spreading the glory of the Prophet (pbuh) with greater vigor,” he said.
The mufti also warned that the enemies of the Prophet (pbuh) and Muslims achieve their goals when Muslims resort to violence. “Muslim rage is playing into the hands of their enemies when Muslims attack innocent people and set fire to public or private institutions. Such acts, in fact, damage the image of Islam, a situation the enemies of Islam seeks to create. Such acts go against the teachings of the Prophet (pbuh) and are deplorable,” the mufti said, while reminding the faithful that all Muslims are willing to sacrifice their lives and properties for the cause of their dear Prophet (pbuh).
“The goal of those who abuse Islam and Muslims is to divert the energy of Muslims from building their nations and efforts for unity and development,” the mufti warned.
Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal yesterday reiterated the Kingdom’s strong disapproval of the film and also stressed the principles of interfaith dialogue in a telephone talk with the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The prince condemned the attack on the US diplomatic missions.
Meanwhile, the Taleban claimed responsibility for an attack on a base that killed two American Marines, saying it was a response to the film.
Hundreds of Muslims took to the streets of Sydney, some throwing rocks and bottles in clashes with police.
Police stormed into Cairo’s Tahrir Square and rounded up hundreds of people early yesterday after four days of clashes and demands from protesters for the US ambassador’s expulsion.
Libyan authorities said they had identified 50 people who were involved in the attack in which Ambassador Christopher Stevens died.Link- Arab News

P.S- he is blind- that's why the weird look-

I am confused,
How can the name of our prophet who was blessing for all worlds
and the religon of Islam which meant peace

be used to Kill ?

If we as Muslims followed half of our prophet's ways, then humanity would ask and explore who our prophet was and learn from his teachings.

Today we as Muslims present the absolute worst and people of the world ridicule our prophet.

We must fear, if on the day of judgement we are asked to pay for the damage we the muslims have done to the prophet's name and Allah's religion.

Well it was clearly not a job of foreign government or an embassy so no point attacking them. On the flip side it does look like an elaborate plot to spark tensions especially between Egypt Muslim and Copt population.

Production

The cast and crew have publicly stated that they were deceived about the purpose and content of the film. In a statement obtained by CNN, the film's 80 cast and crew members disavowed the film, saying: "The entire cast and crew are extremely upset and feel taken advantage of by the producer. We are 100% not behind this film and were grossly misled about its intent and purpose." It further explained, "We are shocked by the drastic re-writes of the script and lies that were told to all involved. We are deeply saddened by the tragedies that have occurred."[32] Cindy Lee Garcia, who played the mother of Muhammad's bride-to-be, said the script was for a movie about life in Egypt 2,000 years ago, called Desert Warrior (and possibly also Desert Storm[33]), and that the character "Muhammad" was referred to as "Master George" on set. According to Garcia, "Bacile" claimed to be an Israeli real estate mogul. Later, however, he told her he was Egyptian and she heard him speaking in Arabic with other men on set. Garcia stated it makes her "sick" that she was involved in the film and that she is considering legal action against "Bacile."[34] Sarah Abdurrahman, a producer for WNYC's On the Media program, watched the trailer and concluded that all of the religious references were overdubbed after filming.[35] The independent film was directed by a person first identified in casting calls as Alan Roberts, whose original cut did not include references to Muhammad or Islam.[4][36][34]
In September 2012, "Sam Bacile" was initially described as a 56-year-old (52-year-old according to the Wall Street Journal[37]) real estate developer from Israel who spoke by phone with the Associated Press.[38][39] Israeli authorities found no sign of him being an Israeli citizen,[40] and there was no indication of a 'Sam Bacile' around 50 years old living in California, having a real estate license[41] or participating in Hollywood filmmaking.[42] Though "Bacile" claimed the film had been made for $5 million from more than 100 Jewish donors,[43] Hollywood Reporter described the film's appearance as unprofessional, bringing this claim into doubt.[44] According to a man who identified himself to the Wall Street Journal as Bacile, the film was produced to call attention to what he called the "hypocrisies" of Islam.[45] After further reports suggested that Bacile was neither Israeli nor Jewish, Rabbi Abraham Cooper condemned initial reports that Bacile was Jewish and the movie was financed by "100 Jewish donors," saying that whoever told this to the Associated Press committed a blood libel and said that the media did not thoroughly research this claim. Cooper said that to "catapult what might be a nonexistent Jewish element could lead to violence against Jews," and called on the media to learn from this incident, while investigating who exactly created the film.[46]
Later, "Sam Bacile" was identified as Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, a Coptic Christian immigrant from Egypt living in Cerritos, California, near Los Angeles. In 2010, Nakoula, who had served prison time on a 1990s conviction for manufacturing methamphetamine, pleaded no contest to bank fraud and was sentenced to 21 months in prison;[47][5] he was released on probation from prison in June 2011.[48] Authorities said Nakoula told the police that he had written the movie's script while in prison and, together with his son, Abanob Basseley, raised between $50,000 and $60,000 from his wife's family in Egypt to finance the film.[49][5] According to CNN, the FBI contacted him because of the potential for threats, but he is not under investigation by the FBI.[50] However, federal officials are investigating whether Nakoula violated the terms of his probation, which barred him from using the Internet for five years.[6] According to The Smoking Gun, Nakoula had planned to produce the film as early as May 2009, when he first took out ads for crew members. However, he was arrested on the bank fraud charges a month later.[51] Nakoula’s June 2010 sentencing transcript for fraud shows that he was a U.S. government informant. [52][53]
American non-profit Media for Christ obtained film permits to shoot the movie in August 2011, and Nakoula provided his home as a set and paid the actors, according to government officials and those involved in the production.[54] Media for Christ president Joseph Nassralla Abdelmasih reportedly went into hiding after the violent response to the film.[54]

Steve Klein, a Vietnam veteran who has been active in opposing Islam and has been associated with paramilitary style "hate groups" at his church according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, was asked by Nakoula to be the spokesman for the film.[55] The movie's self-identified consultant, Klein reportedly told Nakoula: "You're going to be the next Theo van Gogh."[56] Klein later told journalist Jeffrey Goldberg that "Bacile" is not a real person and is neither Israeli nor Jewish, as has been reported, and that the name is a pseudonym for about 15 Copts and Evangelical Christians from Syria, Turkey, Pakistan and Egypt; Goldberg questioned the reliability of Klein.[57] Klein rejected any blame for the violent reaction to the movie, saying, "Do I feel guilty that these people were incited? Guess what? I didn't incite them. They're pre-incited, they're pre-programmed to do this."[55]

Sign says Muslims are not terrorists / stop attacks on Muslims.... but the issue is some thing else.

This does not prove any respect to the prophet or tolerance or understanding to the religion Islam.... which is clearly given in (Holy) Quran.

They have done something out of the goodness of their hearts. Add they should be commended for it. The nice people never make it to the news, propaganda oriented media makes sure of that from either side.
