Saudi fighter Jet shot down over Yemen by Huothi Air defence force.

Houthis have shot down a Saudi Jet in Northern Yemen with an advanced surface to Air Missile. Houthis have claimed the jet was involved in the bombing of innocent civilians and was intercepted successfully.

TEHRAN, Jan. 07 (MNA) – Houthi-controlled Saba news agency reported that Yemenis had managed to shot down a fighter jet belonging to a Saudi-led military coalition over the Yemeni northern province of Saada on Sunday.

Yemeni air defense forces, according to what Houthi-controlled Saba news agency reported, have intercepted and shot down a twin-engine and multirole Panavia Tornado combat aircraft belonging to the Saudi-led military alliance involved in the aerial bombardment campaign against Yemen.

A Yemeni military source told Iran’s Press TV, on condition of anonymity, that the fighter jet was targeted on Sunday evening as it was flying in the skies over Kitaf wa al-Boqe'e district in the country’s northwestern mountainous province of Sa’ada, Yemen's Arabic-language al-Masirah television network reported.

The source added that the aircraft was struck with a surface-to-air missile fired by Yemeni forces.

The jet had purportedly taken part in airstrikes against residential neighborhoods in Yemen. The development was also reflected on the official Twitter page of al-Masirah.

Which ever missile took it down, whoever provided them..I damn care for these details... It is a defensive weapon and they have all the right in the world to defend themselves. No one is allowed to kill innocent Yemenis. Really a moment to rejoice and I hope they strengthen their ADS. But they should not attack KSA especially the Hijaz and those long range missiles have been illegally provided to them. I don't buy the crap from Irani mullah's here that Houthis are able to develop these missiles themselves...that is simply a nonsense. I'm not taking any sides here nor do I need to please anyone. I just fear Allah and tell the truth.

Saudi Arabian Tornado does not have canards.. that is a fake image.. but don't know about the news..since there were F-16s lost over Yemen in the past..

I think this is a better strategy for Huothis as Saudis cannot send in troops and can only use jets to bomb. So instead of firing Ballistic missiles they should only focus on Air defense and anti ship missiles and Live in peace.

Exactly, they should get the best ADS possible and also develop their airforce. Shot down every invading airplane before it can drop a single bomb. Aggressors are cowards...a single A/C knocked out of the sky will send shivers down the spine of their whole airforce.
