Featured Saudi coalition shoots down Houthi ballistic missiles and drones

Of course they reserve the right to retaliate. Does Kashmiris also reserve same right and will Iran help them in the same way?

Pakistan should step up its support and supply them with ballistic missiles to change the equation

Missiles and 'booby-trapped unmanned aircraft' from Yemen's Houthi rebels intercepted, including one fired on Riyadh.

The Saudi-led military coalition said on Tuesday it intercepted and destroyed drones and missiles launched against the kingdom by Houthi rebels in Yemen, including one fired towards the capital Riyadh.

The Iran-aligned Houthis said they would announce details of a "major attack" on Saudi Arabia on their Al Masirah TV, amid ongoing fighting in Yemen where the rebels took control of the northern province of Al-Jawf earlier this year.

"The joint coalition forces managed ... to intercept and destroy a ballistic missile launched by the terrorist Houthi militia from Sanaa towards Riyadh in a deliberate hostile operation," coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki said on state media.

The Saudi military said it also brought down "eight booby-trapped unmanned aircraft to target civilian objects and civilians in the kingdom", as well as "three ballistic missiles from Saada governorate towards the kingdom".

The Houthis claimed they targeted the headquarters of Saudi Arabia's defence ministry, the King Salman air base and an intelligence building in the capital, Riyadh, along with other military buildings in the regions of Najran and Jizan in the kingdom's south.

Yahai Sarei, a Houthi military spokesman, said in a statement that they used ballistic missiles and drones in the attack, which came as the rebels are pressing ahead to take control of the oil-rich central province of Marib from the government forces.

The attack came after Saudi Arabia announced on Monday that Yemen's southern separatists - backed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the country’s internationally recognised government - agreed to a ceasefire after months of infighting.

The agreement aims to close the rift between Saudi Arabia and the UAE, nominal allies in the war against the Houthis.

Missiles and air raids
Violence between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis has surged after the expiry last month of a six-week ceasefire prompted by the coronavirus pandemic, with the Houthis launching missiles and drones towards Saudi cities and the Saudi-led coalition responding with air strikes.

Saudi Arabia was targeted with dozens of attacks using ballistic missiles or drones last year, including a devastating raid on oil giant Aramco's facilities that temporarily knocked out half the kingdom's crude output.

The attack was claimed by the Houthis, but the United States said it involved cruise missiles originating from Iran.

Yemen has been locked in conflict since 2014 when the Houthis took control of the capital, Sanaa, and went on to seize much of the north.

The crisis escalated when the Saudi-led military coalition intervened to support the internationally recognised government.

Tens of thousands of people, mostly civilians, have been killed and millions displaced in what the United Nations has called the world's worst humanitarian disaster.

Yemenis have the right to fight back and they are doing it quite effectively.

Rebels have essentially forced Saudis to de facto withdraw from Yemen after air campaign failed, now Saudis are intercepting instead.

Now only UAE STC is left, Yemeni rebels could probably make UAE withdraw from Sana'a pretty quickly if they started firing some ballistic missiles towards UAE.
What right are you talking about? they started hitting on the borders in KSA.. so they got what they deserved..pushed back where they belong..
Effectively..HaHa

Where do you get your news buddy..Saudi Arabia never invaded Yemen in the first place..it supports the government there and still doing it..

There was one video of ballistic missile shot down in Riyadh but that was hours after this attack.

Iranian advisers in Yemen are assembling these weapons and staging the attacks. Iran doesn't do anything for people of Yemen besides ask them to mutually destroy themselves along with Saudi Arabia as satanic regime in Iran enjoys spilling blood of Muslims .

Houthis are not occupied and never were, they were based in Sanaa and Sa'dah then decided to try to conquer the whole country all the way down to southern coast. They were threatening Saudis as well and you guys on PDF were here counting down Saudis last days.

Don't make justification for fitnah , you hating Saudis isn't a justification for war between two Muslim nations which is gonna cause major destructions and lots of bad blood.

We know you gonna cry and scream if this same attack was conducted against Iran , hypocrite.

They have all been intercepted and destroyed..
are you SURE of this?

Nope..tell me any country in the world not only in the ME that has intercepted more than 300 BMs..
Well, there is no military in the middle east that can intercept 100s of BMs that cant field a good 15K ground soldiers to squash a militant group like Houthis. Dont come and boast for Saudi military here unless you are ready to get embarrassed like Saudi military.

Both these govts of KSA /UAE and IRAN has converted this region and Muslim world into a chaotic cr@ph0l3.

Is there a limit to there madness? How many Muslims will hold these clowns responsible in the day of judgement?

Its Iran's fault, they are trying to stir the pot between Shia and Sunni in Yemen when us Arabs should really all have Ba'athist governments.

no lets ask you- where do YOU Get your fake biased news from? Saudis have lost the war. when they accept it, i will tag you, since you believe Saudi military performance is real but Iranian weapons are fake? Saudis have lost so badly, they cant even control the ground situation because they hired lame incompetent desperate and broke Yemeni proxies to fight their battle they need to fight themselves with an experienced army.

As we see today, the militaries in trouble are the ones with the best technology, because they dont want to commit men on the ground to fight the real wars, but instead they are preserving their army people like they are royalty. game has changed!!
