What's new

Saudi Arabia should be banned from London 2012

the women in parliament are ultra
they asked for exemple separation of men and women in hospitals: they are the extremist ones, not representing the country

Anyway still women rights are low in our country:
salaries of women are much lower than men
they have two times less right of heritage
that's why there is the expression "woman half a man" i guess you know it

Of course man, but I believe a human should be payed and respected for his/her merits not gender.
But I still think it is good that women have some freedom in our country.

. . .
We are a sovereign country, we do as we like.
No one is going to force his culture on us just so he would allow us into the Olympics.

If you continue on this plea than not in distant future, I can see the future internal situation developing into same as your nation creates with her petro dollar. It can not go on far too long. Your own women will force their rights on your very culture. You can not for ever suppress the 50% of your population.

I am not talking to create any destability anywhere but a society might have survived for over hundreds of years it is not going to last forever by being rigid as is the case in some of the GCC nations.

In what all events are they competing??:what:

So ignorant. Who are you to speak for Saudi women?
I am a Saudi and I tell you that most Saudi women don't want that, or at the very least don't care about that.

Interesting. So they want to force other nations to act as they like even under the excuse of sport events? I definitely don't agree with Saudi Arabia in the way it treats women and I strongly disagree with them, but it doesn't mean they could use Olympics as an excuse to dictate their ideas to other countries.

It is up to Saudi Arabia to decide whether or not they have female Olympians, although personally I believe that they should have female Olympians. They should only send female participants to take part in those games where the Islamic code of conduct can be met perhaps.

"they should only send"? Women can decide for themselves. Get a life chauvinist

Huh? I am not a chauvinist, I only said that because conformance to Islamic codes of conduct is required in Saudi Arabia. For example a Muslim woman wearing a swimsuit exposing her body might be seen as being immoral.

The suggestion I made was for the purpose of Saudi Arabia countering the accusation of gender discrimination while still taking religious values in to consideration. Stop misrepresenting my views or at least try & understand them before making false accusations. When I said "they" I meant "Saudi Arabia".

I don't believe either gender is superior to the other, in fact I believe in the Islamic views regarding gender equality. So before advising others to get a life make sure you don't spend your own life misconstruing someone else's post. ;)

Let us get real. Those of you who preach high morals are the same who behind the door enjoy all the unmoral behaviour. These are the same Sheikhs who travel to countries like Thailand and Philippines to enjoy the company of under age girls. Hypocrites and pedophiles should not preach what they can not practice. I will search all the video's and try to give you the links.

I did not ask your nationality. I am exercising the a much sought after right in GCC nations "Right to Speak" my mind. This what your men and women are fighting for now a days. A decade ago you or your fathers might have said the same thing about the right to drive in your country but women are fighting back and they have support of the rest of the world. If you want to participate in the International event than one has to follow the dress code that has been there from the beginning or else stay out and do not dictate to us your moral standards.

International sports events are not a place where one's religious codes are to be observed or enforced. I do not agree with the topic either. It will be unjust to ban men teams who qualify to participate. I hope over time society will become more open and be able to send women teams as well.

Hey, first of all I wasn't preaching morals. I was simply stating that there are some Islamic values that Saudi Arabia will obviously be following. I don't indulge in immoral behavior behind closed doors, whatever I do, I do in public, everyone in my family knows my lifestyle & I assure you there is nothing immoral about it.

Stop accusing people of hypocrisy & pedophilia, pedophilia is damn disgusting. :bad: As for hypocrisy, my friend, hypocrisy is present everywhere. So think before you accuse others of disgusting crimes. I would beat to death a pedophile or rapist or any other sicko myself if I ever came across one. Go ahead & post your videos, I will watch them, but don't expect a reply cause I am really not in the mood to get in to an argument.

I agree.
