Saudi Arabia produces the advanced air defense system "BIHO II ADS" in cooperation with South Korea

In different asymmetric battlefield environments and against all emerging, typical and atypical threats, the "BIHO II ADS" system is the best and most powerful solution against all air threats while performing a range of different tasks to provide fire support to troops, protect convoys and facilities, and neutralize all air threats from a range of 35 kilometers.

Therefore, the system comes equipped with an unmanned turret with a main armament of 30 or 40 mm cannon with secondary armament on both sides of the tower that includes a group of missile launchers that can launch surface-to-air and anti-armor missiles.

In addition to this, the tower is equipped with the latest day and night vision systems with a small target detection radar installed on the right side of the tower with a maximum detection range of 15 km, and the surveillance radar is installed on the roof of the tower with a maximum detection range of 35 km, and the total weight of the system is 30 tons and is installed on "Tigon 8 × 8" armored vehicle that can move at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour with an operating range of 800 kilometers.

In this accelerating context of Vision 2030 for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to localize military industries and increase the domestic product from them, the Saudi Science Technology Company for Industrial Investment stated that the new generation hybrid air defense system "BIHO II ADS" has successfully completed the final experiments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is preparing both from the Saudi side. And the Korean company "Hanwha" to start the first stages of quantitative production during the coming period.

Yes.. it was developed and tested by KSA and South Korea.. it can come without any US components..
There are systems from South Africa like that too without any US components, or Ukrainian systems or Brasilian ones and so forth.. so why not?

It is known that South Korea has many very advanced arms manufacturing companies and pretty self -sufficient in most of its weapons.. it manufactures one of the best tanks in the world too..and many missile systems..

But if you say 70% of the system is American ..you can provide the sources or at least explain why you think so..

And so on keep researching and you will find more and more you need seprate 150 LICENSES FROM USA to re export them to KSA .

I doubt that Saudi will get Full TOT. Maybe South Korea will send some kits and the final product will be assembled, but they won't give the Saudis tech on Radars or the missiles used in the system.

Why?

It is officially a co-prodution project and both sides invested in this. The deal has been in place for long time. there is no sanctions on Saudi Arabia or South Korea which means whatever parts is inside it plays no rule here as the parts were purchased by SK and Saudis. At the end of the day it doesn't change anything

That is just tremendous! What a great and valuable self defense platform installed on an armored vehicle that can tag along with a group of any column. Great idea and coming through with it also is terrific. The radar range for the smaller and larger one is fantastic along with mounting the two different types of missiles to the sides on the top radar and then the gun. It doesn't get any better than that for this starter innovation of a self defense platform. I'm sure it will morph into an even bigger and better one on the next model. I'd love to know if Saudiya is planning on selling these and to whom?

Yes most likely after it has enough fo the ground forces.. Saudi Arabia will sell to the ME countries for sure and others who will show interest for the system.. There are other SK wonderful systems..hopefully KSA and the UAE will get some surprising JVs for them.. since the are very close with SK in many high tech fields..
