Saudi and UAE are always on the same page,,, its for public consumption. Little difference on Yemen war and Oil production issue in OPEC. But, some analysts believe UAE is bringing Isreal for the security of shipping lanes near Yemen, where Saudis are not happy with the presence of Israel-UAE collaboration.

It may have something to do with the newer leadership moving away from the leadership role the Saudis had assumed i.e leaders of the sunni world.

It appears, unfortunately, that once they got challenged in it by the Turks and such, they just retreated into their own space. I don't know whether it's a good move or not for them, but they certainly have lost space diplomatically.

The UAE's acceptance of Israel hasn't helped either because it is viewed as having at least a tacit approval from the Saudis.

They are protecting their interest groups, like others. It is fact Afghanistan is a pain in our backyard. All we want is no more refugees and Indian influence. Rest whatever they do. But, now US again threat to re-enter in Afghanistan. Because too much pressure inside Congress for leaving Afghanistan without any future plan, where it raised the question of US militarily and diplomatic influence in the region and world ...
