Saudi Arabia makes Atomic accelerator

. .
hey guys , atomic accelerator CAN NOT be used to build a nuclear warhead ....(for who are talking about WW3)
this can be used to just study the nucleons and electrons of the atom core .
I hope all of the muslim countries(even KSA and GCC who are against our policies) just go ahead and be the number one in science so those western won't say , religion means lack of knowledge.

If I remember right it was Iran that had %79 of its economy of oil and KSA was %77

This is the KSA's graph

768px-Saudi_Arabia_Export_Treemap.png

The ones i posted are also of KSA but i posted the graphs from 2009, i can see the ones you posted are from 2010. If they reduced dependency on oil by 2% in 1 year alone that is also a commendable achievement.

As to why i posted these graphs. I want you to see where you are placed as for oil export and diversify your economy much more. I know KSA is working on that as we speak hastily with mega projects, but you are still heavily dependent on energy sector. Furthermore one thing i noticed is that your import which is $81 billion is dominated by cars, electronic equipment (machines etc), medicine and food products. While that is normal since your industrial capacity is still at an early stage i stumbled upon this graph:
scaled.php

as it can be observed only tiny 1,1% of your total import is from Turkey while you import heavily from China, Germany, UK, US and Japan. I know for a certainty that Turkey produces most the products you buy from these countries at a competetive quality and quantity. Being a heavy importer you should reconsider your market and make us one of your primary import partners. In 2010 KSA only imported products worth $900 million from Turkey while exporting $1,2 billion.

hey , it's a scientific thread ! why you are talking about economy!

if don't have information about this accelerator , just don't change the topic of thread. thanks :Pop:

Saudi Arabia successfully Produces first indigenous atomic accelerator

particlesmash.gif

Saudi Arabian scientists have successfully made the first indigenous Atomic Accelerator and is planning to mass produce it and use it in Medical and Nuclear physics research.

The head of the King Abdulaziz City of Science and Technology Dr.Mohammad Al-Syool have overseen the completion of the Electrostatic Atomic Accelerator which was designed and produced by the hands of Saudi researches in the National Center of Physics Laboratories in the Science City.

This accelerator which is the first in the Arab world to be fully indigenous aims to set up a full research laboratory with the highest technological standards which will serve Medical, Industrial and Nuclear and Biological physics laboratory. It also aims to establish a strong nuclear physics scientific base in Saudi Arabia.

This accelerator is different from other atomic accelerators by its ability to to Accelerate and also save all kinds of atoms regardless of their mass which makes it capable of providing more kinds of research including Physics Plasma to Biological specialties. Even organic tissue which now can be studied on an atomic level thanks to this device. Also will give Saudi Arabia huge capabilities in guided energy studies (Lasers, etc..).

Work on this device began in 2009/2010 (1430H) where all necessary studies from basic design to simulation and then prototypes. Building of this device was on two stages the first one was on building an Acceleration system and ion injection savers and the manufacturing of a 50 Kilo Electron Volt microchip. And the first successful Ionic ray was produced from the device on Wednesday the 25th of Jumada 1433H.
The second stage was building the the Electrostatic saving rings some of which have already been produced while others are under production still and will be completes by year's end.

The mass production of this device will open new windows of scientific research in the country and is planned to be produced for all Nuclear Physics labs in the Kingdom. And in friendly nations in the future.

?????????? : ???????? ?????? ??? ????? ???????? ?????? ????????? ?? ?????? ??????

They want to do all this with a particle accelerator that could reach the energy level of 50 Kev? Then you guys come up and say that Iranian news is propaganda? A 50 KeV accelerator would open new windows in nuclear physics? The pic is an EPIC, it signals like this probably kitchen size accelerator could smash particles!!!! Yea, Yea, just from tomorrow Saudis would smash quarks with this unique 50 KeV accelerator.

And I don't understand how they want to mass produce it. They want to build hundreds of this?

I do agree that this accelerator is different from the rest of the accelerators in the world because I can't remember of any particle accelerator in the world that produces 50 Kev and yet it still opens new windows of nuclear research.

It'll be of use for medical purposes though, that's the good aspect of it, but it will be of ~0% use for any nuclear physics research.

Considering it is a technology demonstrator and does have capabilities that are apparently more than your average Particle Accelerator of which by the way the scientist received patents on this article is pretty accurate. It says "Open the fields" and quite honestly it did didn't it??

Your first sentence doesn't make sense. There's a BIG difference between a particle accelerator that works at energies above 1Mev, 1Gev or higher with a kitchen sized accelerator that works with energies at 50 Kev and less. The higher you energize the particle it gets MUCH MORE freaking hard to build an accelerator due to relativistic effects and the engineering. You can't call it a technology demonstrator when even the US 1950's accelerators were more powerful.

Iran currently doesn't own any national accelerators, we have imported accelerators from outside of Iran for medical and agricultural research, and also nuclear research, but we haven't built an accelerator yet. So your second sentence doesn't make sense to me. Iran first wanted to build a 290 KeV linear accelerator for the IPM, but later changed its mind and decided to build one with 12 MeV capabilities. That one is studied at the IPM research center right now and is about to get finalized by the parliament and it will be built close to the city of Qazvin.

I don't think it would open any fields for KSA. KSA could buy much better particle accelerators for low energies from the outside. You are not sanctioned, you can buy much more capable accelerators than 50 Kev from the outside. This one could only be used for medical and agricultural purposes, still not a breakthrough, but a good achievement and it's plausible to go after the science, but you can't claim it's a scientific breakthrough or anything of the sort.

The point was to show you how you guys come and criticize Iran for propaganda, while your own newspapers are 100 times funnier when it comes to make claims. You claim that this tiny accelerator is different from the rest of the world and will be a scientific breakthrough for the kingdom, but the truth is VERY far from that.

Why buy?? We want to make them. And this is a good start. And yes considering we are a country which these technologies are blocked from us it is a breakthrough. Iran had a much much much better head start than the one we are having. You guys had Good relations with Israel and were the biggest western ally in the region while we were fighting them here.

We are still considered a tier 3 country with significant technologies blocked from us. Our best bet is to send 140,000 students abroad and get it and this is what is happening. We will build bigger ones in due times. As our needs arises further. At least now we can say we have a totally national particle accelerator unlike most of our neighbors.

The real big one will be made in KA-CARE do you know what KA-CARE is?? I suggest you google that. And again you didn't tell me exactly what did the article say wrong?? It said it opens fields for new research dont you agree that it does?? And why?

excllent work by saudis and many congrats:cheers: But it would be unfair to give this statement i think iranians(although they are not true arabs but the competitor of arabs) are also doing graet jo espessially in space and missile tech

Arguing in a specific matter does not necessarily mean i have to disagree with you about everything. We can still have a civil discussion.

No no I am not talking about that, you adressed me if I was a Saudi which I am not... (luuuckkyyy) :) Ofcourse we can believe me, I had Greeks friends in cyprus who thought that Greeks didn't attacked Turks in Cyprus or Turks were the aggressors in Independence War (Ours) You are better than them by miles :P

I did actually adress you and i don't have any ill feelings towards you on a personal level. I am just very persistent as you probably are aware by now. As i said previously, i just don't want to hear generalizations about Muslims, on the same time i will promise to not generalize non-believers, deal?

Deal :D Lets raise our glasses to this achievement!
