Saudi Arabia Fourth Largest Defence Spender In 2013

People lining up for government subsided food happens all around the world.

the following picture is in the U.S for instance !

Agreed. But the point is that those people who are lining up for food in Iran wouldn’t have lined up if they got the money that the Houthis, Al Asad, and Muqtada Al Sadir get.

The Iranian people already know this and bitterly complain about it. I know it is so sad and a little improper to go into that type of discussion, but the Mullahs' radical policies in the region (especially after the Syrian Civil War) is making everybody go nuts.

I've never seen Iran’s popularity in the region at this low level, never.

@Abii seem hurt.

Is that idiot not always hurt when the word Arab and Muslim is mentioned? Some traumas of some sort. But who the hell cares? Just keep the idiot out of this section so you don't have to waste your time on idiotic statements.

KSA should invest more in training rather than purchasing. All these weapons are of no use if you don't know the full capability of them.

Dear what do you think is happening? Look at the recent deals with Pakistan, Indonesia etc. All part of that. Building a self-sufficient military sector (or a largely self-sufficient one) takes DECADES. Especially if you are interested in the best equipment like KSA always is.
If you are KSA you can basically buy everything which is also part of the curse of being blessed with natural resources. Mistakes have been committed in the past, quite a lot actually, but at least the government it trying to correct them. That is encouraging.

You will not see the real results until 1-2 decades from now on. You should always start from somewhere.

@Full Moon

Please stop focusing on that entity all the time. Why care? What has this to do with us again? Let them spend money on some fanatical Shia Arab militias while their population starves and live in poverty. How does this concern us? Do we live in Southern Lebanon? Or Southern Iraq? Or in the tiny Houthi controlled parts of Northwestern Yemen?

You do know that it only takes a few statements from one of the Imams of Al-Masjid Al-Haram (most influential ones by far in the Muslim world) to issue some quick statements that would make their groups look like a picnic in comparison, right? But do you also know why we don't use those tactics? Because we are not a sanctioned pariah state trying to act more "Iranian" than the "Iranians" themselves. That's why.
Whatever they do it should not concern us the slightest as long as they keep a distance from our part of the world. If their intentions are bad.

So much Black Gold that everyone on the World don´t must starve !

That know´s the Saudi´s but aren´t the West , thats the Irony !

. .
That is some huge defense spending. :woot:

I wonder if it would even be possible for the other countries in the region to catch up?

How much does the GCC in total have in their annual defense budget?

Hey, Saudi Arabia is not MullahStan. We don't live in a jungle to poke a nose in others internal issues. Saudi Arabia is bound to the UN and to the international community. Whatever we buy is for us and us only.

Take a look at MullahStan spending money on terrorist organizations while its people are starving.

These pics above were taken couple days ago. Iranians fighting with each other to get a 10 kilo of rice, cooking oil, sugar and other food aid while Saudi Arabia is prospering. Not to mention Iranian cancer patients in Saudi hospitals for treatment on state expense.

These pictures confirm to me that Syrians' blood will not go for nothing. Those who are lining up for food here will one day line up to see the Mullahs’ dead bodies. Who expected Libyans to line up for a look at the dead Qathafi? No one.

Let's remember that one of the Libyans strongest complaints against Qathafi was his wasteful spending of Libya's oil money on useless external conflicts (Sudan Civil War, the Irish Republican Army, socialist movements in South and Central America...etc).

Man..Chill Out :-), I've still got a long way to go in exposing their propaganda.

The problem is that they are not keeping a distance form us. Believe it or not, I wish that my information on Iran is just as much as my information about Paraguay. I also think it is part of our defense to expose our enemy’s strength, and weaknesses.

In most Arab media, Iran is shown with an utter negative and dismissive image that doesn’t enable clear analysis. Promoting dislike of Iran is not bad by itself, but it is often done with a great amount of ambiguity that doesn’t tell us what is accurate and what is not.

I guess that we can’t wait for them to come to our doors in order to be alert. I consider them, for the last decade at least, to be far more dangerous and destructive than Israel. Have you noticed that Israel is not getting as much bad press as it used to get? Thanks to the Mullahs’ humanitarian policies in Syria – which proved that nothing can cleans their hearts towards us. Does this have to do with those who were tolerant with the Alawites being allowed to be in the Syrian armed forces? That tolerance dating back to 1950s was the reason why I am here now.

The Houthis are no longer far from San’a. They currently have about 40 tanks, according to some reports. How many will they have if they successfully capture San’a? Will a civil war break out in Yemen if that happens? How much money are we going to spend in order to finance their opponents and control the boarders? Will they ever have their own air-force?

In Iraq, their audacity have reached an unbelievable level. They literally returned the exact sectarian massacres that the Safavids have done. They have already reached the level of closing Sunni mosques, and butchering Sunni religious leaders. The current Iraqi “government” does not intentionally respond to sectarian massacres that the militias are carrying out. Do you know that they have already assassinated over 182 former Iraqi air-force pilots who participated in Iraq-Iran war? Trust me, there is no limit to what their grudges can do.http://abcnews.go.com/International/iranian-revenge-iraqi-air-force-pilots/story?id=12298641

All the militias’ fighters (in Iraq or otherwise) will throw their rifles and go to work if they don’t get their pay checks signed by Qassem Sulimani.

More importantly, the U.S government’s passiveness about all of that is really alarming. They have handed Iraq to them on a golden plate. No drone has hunted the Houthis whose official slogan is “Death to America”. It won’t be an exaggeration to think that the U.S prefers the region to get into endless sectarian and regional dominance wars and conflicts. Why not? Israel will be safer, and the revolutionary U.S shale oil fields could replace the ME oil that always come with some troubles.

Last but not least, most Iranian members here are in favor of their government’s insanity in Syria. It is really outrageous to see them cheering for what is happening in Homs after 600 days of siege! They deserve to be handed a cup of vinegar every once in while. ;)

I agree. But we all know this. Every single Arab and Sunni Muslim from the region knows it. Personally though they cannot threaten the Arab world even if they wanted to so I am completely calm. I would prefer those fake wannabe Arab Mullah's to stay a long distance away from every single Arab and Sunni Muslim matter. Since we have learnt that their intentions are only harmful. But they are on loan anyway.

Anyway I am tired of it. It is hugely exaggerated as well. Our focus should be on our people, our region and if any outsider whoever he is wants to have mutual and respectful ties with us we will agree. This include a future Iran with good intentions. We Arabs are hospital people. Everyone knows this. Books have been written on our hospitality. Trade and business is also an ancient and current trait of ours.

Of course they are more annoying than our cousins in Israel whom I believe that we will have good ties with once the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is solved. Once is the giant question here since it might never be solved in our lifetime. Israel itself is nearly an Arab country anyway. 20% of the population are Arab Muslims while 50% of all the Israeli Jews are Jews from Arab lands. I mean you cannot distinguish between the hundred of thousands of Yemeni Jews or partially Yemeni Jews living in Israel from their Yemeni Muslim counterparts back in Yemen.

China is our and the GCC's biggest trading partner. The US foreign policy under Barack Hussein Obama has been laughable but I would not be fearful on that front either. It is all in our hands.

Anyway we cannot predict the future. It might sound incredibly unlikely but KSA and Iran might strike an alliance up one day if it can benefit both countries. Today money is king.

@al-Hasani the askaNAZI European Jews who stole Palestine are not your cousins, they are of European descent and they make up the majority of the population in Israel and they rule Israel. Do not justify some Yemeni Jews or Iraqi Jews living there to justify. Palestinians are your Arabic brethren and most of them are SUNNI like YOU. Read the Jewish Talmud they believe all non Jews are subhuman.

Saudis can spend all they want. Their Armed forces still lack quality leadership to mold them into an effective fighting force.

Can't believe that KSA spends as much as Russia in its national defense.

This is incredible!

Not as much as Russia really. More than %30 will remain unspent, returning to the Cabinet by the Finance Ministry.

However, we are completely different from other countries when it comes to defense budgets. The defense budget includes all defense and security establishments interiorly and exteriorly.

These defense & security departments include the fallowing:

A- Ministry of Defense, known as the MoD, RSF.

B- Ministry of Interior, known as the MoI.

C- Ministry of the Saudi National Guard, known as the SANG.

D- The Saudi General Intelligence Agency, known as the GIP.

With that being said, each and every department of the aforementioned ones in included in this budget. The budget doesn't solely cover the trainings, equipments, and salaries but other mega projects such as hospitals, schools, and universities as well:

KSA should invest more in training rather than purchasing. All these weapons are of no use if you don't know the full capability of them.

Any rational human being would realize that training is a must, no equipments to be provided without having a proper training.
