Saudi-led coalition operations in Yemen are now entering a political phase. The airstrikes have eliminated all threats against the kingdom and the neighboring countries through the destruction of the heavy arms and ballistic missiles that were seized by the Houthi militias and pro-Saleh forces, according to a statement by the defense ministry.

A coalition spokesman said the decision to end operation Firmness Storm followed a request from the Yemeni government.

Finally Saudis are defeated. They could not maintain a war for even a month. All their strategic objectives were blocked. Houthis are in control of Yemen and Hadi is out.

So much so for Saudi military power.[/QUO

No fly zone don't will stop.

...
Learning English will stop?

Anyway, what a piss poor performance of the Saudi royal clan. Disgusting. Nothing achieved, a pathetic show of force that ANY real analyst knows did NOTHING. Spend some money on US defence contractors that could have fed the Palestinians for months.

Pakistan sure did NOT miss out on anything did they?

Yes, the poorest Arab nation is now even more poor. And what is more nice, all those Saudi's yelling "Iran will be next" now have very red cheeks. Erdogan sure dodged this bullet. First smart foreign policy move in over a decade. Props.

Your goal was defeating Houthis .. base on latest reports they still hold strategic parts of Yemen ...

And still is. Your point?

The military campaign isn't over.

President Hadi to give a speech shortly.

Saudis accept unconditional defeat and announce end of their operation. Their military did not have the courage to do a ground operation. Houthis remain in control on the ground.:lol::lol:

But but but, I thought those Saudi's wouldn't stop until the Houthis UNCONDITIONALLY surrendered? Did they all give there AK's to 'king' Salman?:D:D

* First phase of military operation under the name Decisive Storm ended successfully
* Second phase has jus began under the name Restoration of Hope.

Well it seems a hoax...it was reported a few hours back that the King has ordered more border security.

Maybe they wanted to call it "Restoring Hadi" at first and by mistake they are calling it "Restoring Hope"?

A Saudi Arabia-led coalition has ended its bombing campaign against rebels in Yemen, Saudi state television has said.

The coalition's Decisive Storm campaign had achieved its military goals, the report said.

A new operation would be called Restoring Hope, focusing on a political solution in Yemen and on security and counter-terrorism at home.

The coalition had carried out almost a month of air strikes to try to halt the advance of Houthi rebels.

Fresh air strikes had been carried out on Tuesday, with almost 30 people reported killed, many of them civilians.

At least 20 died when aircraft bombed a convoy of Houthi rebel fighters on a bridge in the western city of Ibb, residents and security sources said.

Nine others were killed in the northern city of Haradh, near the Saudi border.

Yemen has been in chaos since the Zaidi Shia rebels known as Houthis, backed by army units supporting ousted former President Ali Abdullah Saleh, took control of the capital, Sanaa, in January and placed President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi under house arrest.

Mr Hadi escaped and took refuge in Aden in February, but left the country at the end of March when the Houthis reached the outskirts of the southern port city.

The coalition air strikes have largely failed to halt the rebel advance.
