Riyadh donates $100m to counterterrorism center

Saudi Arabia has donated $100 million to the International Center for Counterterrorism (ICCT), an umbrella organization of the United Nations.

Earlier, the Kingdom had supported the establishment of the New York-based ICCT by providing $10 million.
Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-Moon thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, for extending his support to the United Nations’ endeavors to fight terrorism in the form assistance to the center.

The appreciation came on Tuesday at a meeting between Ban Ki-moon and Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal before the start of the Conference of Geneva 2, which began on Wednesday in the Swiss city of Montreux.

The two dignitaries discussed several issues including the peace process in Syria and the urgent need to stop the Syrian crisis which has been continuing for the past three years.
It may be mentioned that Saudi Arabia initiated the idea to set up the center in 2005, and signed an agreement with the United Nations to create it in 2011.

Why are the dumb Farsi Kazakh nomads even visiting this thread?

Time to occupy and change that shithole forever once again.

@Arabian Legend

Do you have that post of mine you copied stored? That will be my standard reply to any Farsi troll. I even believe that I should make it as my signature.

Anyway got it. It's stored for future use.

ROFL the funniest news ever I heard.

Everyone knows the majority of the Saudis (including Gulf states) are pro Al Qaeda who have been funding those takfiris since the creation of ISI. Why so hilarious when they allow their citizens to funds them more than the government who fund SNC?

Another embarrassment for Saudia and what a waste haha. Funded a strong pro-Hezbullah Lebanese army with $3b and now let's see what the UN do now with that $100m when we can see no achievement in Yemen, Afghani, Syria and Iraq. Al Qaeda cancercism spread and is spreading rapidly because of those fat Salafist in the Gulf.

Hilarious

I hope it won't be as hilarious as savages storming an embassy of another country.

Terrorism and barbarism have became an exclusive trade-mark to the " Islamic " Republic.

As you can see, you're being blamed for everything, and starving.

You enemies are making fun of you out in public

Let's see who's laughs and shouts are going to be stronger, I hope it won't come from the country which harbors Al-Qaida out of fear they won't target them.  :D  :omghaha:

hahahaha the joke of the month !!!

Not as laughable as seeing Iran humiliated by the Intl. community.

We left you a seat out side in there, you may set until we finish

dat irony :woot:

Ban Ki Moon welcomed it, all rational countries will.

Your opinion is the irony in this as you might think that it would make a difference

Which country are you refering to?

It is the only country which stormed an embassy of a sovereign nation, an act committed by the State itself, not by a bunch of baboons on the loose.
