Saudi Arabia defeated Argentina 2-1 ending Argentina's 35 undefeated games run - One of the biggest underdog stories in modern World Cup history

PSG does, not so much Mbappé himself. Mbappé has 34 goals in 50 CL games for PSG. That is a really good statistic.

For instance last season he did everything for them to advance against Real Madrid. He was the best player in both games and scored in each game. Not his fault that PSG collapsed. Football is a team sport after all. He cannot score, defend and be a goalkeeper at the same time.

Problem is that PSG plays in Ligue 1 (still a top 5 league in Europe) but they are not challenged regularly which is probably their main weakness and it shows in important CL moments.

Also let us not forget that Mbappé was arguably the best player during the FIFA 2018 World Cup when he was just 19 years old. He already won the most important trophy that a footballer can win (World Cup) being the main man/star at such a young age.

Also Haaland, which all due respect to the "Norwegian cyborg", but he has not proven/won anything yet. He moved to the by far best/most dominant team (Man City) in the Premier League. Of course his beginning (goalscoring) has been amazing but let us see how he will perform in big CL matches. Man City is a better team than PSG also and they have a better manager (Pep) too.

Also before Mbappé was bought by PSG, he won the league (defeating PSG) with Monaco being their best player, also reaching the Champions League semifinals back in 2017.

Also he reached the CL final in 2020, losing to a Bayern team that they might/should have won against based on chances. He was not that good in that game. Anyway I don't like his greed and the fact that he did not move to Real Madrid which is the team that I support but I cannot deny his class.
France in 2018 was way too op, they could have won it without him. Mbappe is too inconsistent, unlike Haaland. PSG is better than City on paper, they have the best attack on paper. Mbappe was better in Monaco than in PSG, goals and assists aren't everything. In Monaco he was the main difference maker, that can't be said about him in PSG. Drogba's stats don't look too impressive but he was the main difference-maker in all the important matches.

The soccer bookie are laughing all the way to bank with this match.

Just watched it, very inspiring, the referee was obviously favoring Argentina but Saudis still won the game against all odds. Congratulations!
Lol..the refeere disallow so many goals for the argentina. And u claim they favor Argentina?

They were all off-side goals and correctly disallowed.

On the other hand Argentina was given a very soft penalty (their only goal). For instance yesterday an Iranian player made a much more clearer foul on Maguire (English defender) but England were not awarded the penalty. Today a KSA player barely touched the Argentinian player and Argentina got a penalty.

Not to mention the absurd amount of extra time. Some 15 minutes were being played, at least 2-3 more than the actual time given. The referee looked like he had bet on Argentina scoring a second goal.

Anyway it was a fully deserved KSA win with some cracking goals and they played positive football too and great technical skills as well given the rival was a top 3 favorite (Argentina) who had not lost a single game for 35 straight games. Had they not lost against KSA of all teams today, they would have broken the world record of unbeaten games by a national team.

This is a massive upset. One of the biggest in World Cup history (modern era).

I agree that France were a stacked team in 2018 but Mbappé was the main man IMO. Along with Kanté.

I think that Mbappé has been performing very well for PSG but the problem is the PSG team. As I wrote he should have moved to Real Madrid this summer in order to grow as a player but either he or his family are extremely greedy or Qatar promised him palaces and whatever after his retirement to most of his family. Anyway even Macron made public comments about him needing to stay in Paris.

Anyway, we will have to see, but I don't think that Mbappé or Haaland will be as dominant as Messi and C. Ronaldo were for the past 15 years.

Saudi Arabians are a crazy and insanely funny bunch when they first open up and go at it. Some of the scenes/videos that are floating around on Twitter are amazing. I posted some already.

He is missing the sword.

Messi and Argentina are being trolled to the max.

KSA is flooded by Real Madrid fans so not a surprise.

Dawsari goal made messi soul leave his body. People can talk all the shit they want, but that goal was amazing. My nigga was pressed from all sides and then shat on argentina...

Well done by Tunisia to draw 0-0 against Denmark.

Mabrook @_Nabil_ (we had our discussions before but credit where credit is due). I am cheering for all Arab/Muslim teams in the World Cup.

Saudi Arabia and Tunisia made the Arabs proud while the host (Qatar) was a big disappointment.

The winning goal was pure hustle and beautiful. Adds to the entire mood of the win even more.

Actually did KSA not score the 2 goals very quickly? I felt that they had just scored their first goal, when Al-Dawsari scored that stunner afterwards.

Argentina were in complete and utter shock.

I have nothing against Messi, I respect his talent and work in football and he seems like a genuinly nice guy (I am a Real Madrid fan so he was our main rival for so many years) but I even felt sad for him and his performance. He was over matched in most 1-1 situations. He looked like the worst kind of Messi that we have seen quite a few times in important games throughout the recent years.

Thanks , politics aside any I'm cheering any Muslim, Arab team of course.

Hope Morocco will please us as Saudi team did 🙏

We should leave women out of it. I have seen many Iranians congratulating KSA. I don't honestly think that the average Saudi Arabian and Iranian has any reason to hate each other and they are more similar than dissimilar. I am familiar with Iranians in UAE and the GCC and Arabs there and they have much in common, even sometimes they look very similar (surprise, surprise, being neighbours). They are football rivals, but I always felt that Iraq-Iran was a bigger rivalry due to history and everything involved.

Anyway as I wrote in the World Cup thread, I think that Iran can quailfy for the first time in their history to the knockout stage in the World Cup because I don't really rate tiny Wales or USA. They are not really good football teams IMO. So Iran has a chance.

Tunisia fought like lions. Great defensive and they could have even won if they scored on their chances. Tunisia has often done well in football but they are ignored with more attention given to Algeria and Morocco in the Maghreb due to a larger size.

Al hasani... we make jokes here. Stop being a little bitch bro. I make fun of Pakistanis the most. Middle Eastern beoble have the worst sense of humor and very thin skin.

Reason for hostility are regimes in power, geopolitical competition and ancient history. However if you dick deeper down, you will realize that Arabs and Persians had peace/were not hostile most of their existence. But anyway, let them sort it out, I don't think hatred has any future, outside of Mullah trolls on PDF, I have never seen any Arab users, Saudi Arabians included, be hostile to Iran or Iranians without any reason.

First Muslim Arab African country to win a match in WC was Tunisia back in 1978, we are more powerful than Algeria, Morocco, Egypt ....

For instance the Mullah's of Iran, believe it or not, are blaming KSA for Iranians protesting, so no wonder that you have brainwashed Iranians online.

@Sardar330

Stop trolling. Where have I insulted Qatar or Iran? In the post you quoted, there are no insults whatsoever!

I never claimed that anyone was an Arab, I said that Taremi looks like an Arab. So you posted his home town (Bushehr) and it is just across KSA (150 km away by sea) and there are an important Arab community in Bushehr (which every online source also says) not to mention that Southern Iran and Eastern Arabia have had millenia old ties and been intermarrying each other.

Don't be a hater.
