Saudi Arabia beheads Pakistani for smuggling heroin

A criminal is a criminal, regardless of race or nationality. And kudos to Saudi government for being ballsy. In Pakistan, the state won't dare hang even the most hardened terrorists. Had Pakistan government beheaded captured terrorists, the prospective terrorists would have thought twice before joining such organizations.
I dont think you can scare terrorists by beheading them.

@Hyperion

My family has close ties to all sectors of KSA society. Being a Makkawi Hashemits this is not surprising. My immediate family knows Al-Saud family members personally. I know what is going on in KSA. Mostly in Hijaz. So you own business in the "evil Arab world"?:o:

Did I not just write to you that the the drug trade have grown in size and that the authorities have declared a war on drugs? I did.

The point is here that migrants are the ones that are mostly involved with the drug trade for reasons that are obvious and it is also clear that most of the executed people are locals. That migrants are part of that statistic is not that strange when KSA has some of the biggest migrant population in the world.

To even remotely reply that this Pakistani drug smuggler and criminal was executed only because he was a Pakistani and that an Arab would never be that in this situation is simply pure and utter nonsense. For God's sake the authorities just executed 4 Saudi Arabian brothers in Najran not many weeks ago for smuggling drugs into the country in large quantities and here you have 1 Pakistani who keeps insisting or alluding to this criminal being innocent or some random Ali taken from a plane.

Or our Iranian friend comparing the killing of a Pakistani soldier for no apparent reason with a criminal caught red-handed and put on trial. Yes, makes perfect sense.

Come on, this is silly. I know that most people are clueless about KSA but still.

Is the drug problem not quite huge in Pakistan? I know that it is enormous in nearby Afghanistan and Iran and last time I checked all 3 countries also put people to death for smuggling lethal drugs in huge amounts. Or are those laws just there but not really enforced? Just asking.

How much we bet that no european or american would be executed?

Can you give me one example of an Westerner doing something like that or even attempting it? Likewise find me a Saudi Arabian citizen jailed in Europe for that. I bet that there is no single Saudi Arabian that is jailed for life in Europe. Not 1 single.

Several Western criminals are rotting in KSA jails for crimes. Life in prison and some are also on death row if I recall. But not many as the Western population is low and those that live in KSA are mainly well-educated people who have no reasons to engage in crime.

I have never seen any criminal behavior from any Western expat in KSA. The majority live in closed off compounds anyway. Might be why.

;) There is alot of fun and party in those compounds. ;) I can tell you we have free game there.

You do realize that Saudi Arabians themselves are living in compounds? There is not more "fun and party" there than anywhere else in KSA where there is no presence of the law and people who want that to happen. You only have to go to a secluded place (plenty of those in KSA) whether mountains, beaches, steppes, deserts, valleys and you are left alone. Practically able to do everything. But I doubt that you have Westerners or anyone else conducting huge drug operations in compounds across KSA. That would be very stupid.

The only reason why the Western countries can put more pressure is because they seem to care more about their citizens and have more resources and a bigger weight than poor countries. The same happens with GCC citizens everywhere. Countries such as Iraq are even extraditing Saudi Arabian criminals to KSA under the request of KSA although they could easily have executed them in Iraq like they do with others.

I don't recall any Saudi Arabian ever jailed for longer than a few years in any Western country. Outside the US.

Human rights stand above "shariah law". Human rights stand above any otehr law. You have them simply because you are human. Being a stone age barbarian is no excuse for this
Who the hell are you to say such things about someone's religion. You wouldnt have cared much about how humane it is if one of your members died of heroin supplied by that guy. He knew the punishment yet he did it so think before you post your crappy lectures on humanity.

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia on Friday beheaded a Pakistani man convicted of smuggling heroin into the ultra-conservative Muslim kingdom, the interior ministry said.
Butha Mushtaq was the third Pakistani executed on drug charges in Saudi Arabia since October 15.
He was found guilty of smuggling heroin concealed in capsules which he had swallowed, and executed in the capital Riyadh, the ministry said in a statement carried by the official SPA news agency.
His execution brings to 59 the number of people beheaded in Saudi Arabia this year.
Last year, 78 people of various nationalities were executed in the Gulf Arab state.
In September, a United Nations independent expert called for moratorium on the death penalty in Saudi Arabia, which has faced harsh criticism from human rights group for carrying out executions.
Christof Heyns, the UN special rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, has said Saudi trials “are by all accounts grossly unfair” and defendants often not allowed a lawyer. He said confessions were obtained under torture.
Rape, murder, apostasy, armed robbery and drug trafficking are all punishable by death under Saudi Arabia’s strict version of Sharia law.

So from November 2012 to late October 2014 you found 5 cases. WOW. Can you tell me how many expats/migrants that live in KSA? Just make a wild guess. Lastly tell me how many people KSA executes yearly on average.
Forget them man its strict laws like these that keep a society from becoming wasted. If it wasnt this way they would have trolled you for being a drug consuming nation. I wish we have such laws in our country too.

For those that don't know the answers then KSA executes less than 100 people on average YEARLY. In a country with a population of 35 million now. The expect population is around 8 million. Many of them Arabs from nearby countries. Who also get executed when doing crimes.

It's just that many countries make a huge show when their criminals are caught murdering people in KSA or engaging in drug trade and cry and cry to no avail. Many of such countries have executions themselves.

I see no such media blackout when China executes thousands of people yearly, the US (Blacks being overly represented), Iran etc.

People also cry about the method of execution in KSA while this is the most humane, painless, quick, swift and cheap method of execution that lasts 1 second. Beheadings were used all over the world since time immortal and the French had great success with the guillotine which is basically the same (just a machine doing it) and they did it until 35 years ago.

But of course gas chambers, electric chairs, hangings that last minutes, lethal injections that can last 30 minutes if they go wrong are more "humane".

Bunch of nonsense.

Deep down they know it is the right thing to do. A criminal is a criminal he has no nationality and needs to be punished according to the crime he has committed
