The Arab Coalition spokesman, Turki al-Maliki, said Saturday that Saudi air defense forces have intercepted a missile fired by Houthi insurgents from Yemen at the southern Saudi city of Najran.

According to preliminary information, an Indian resident was lightly wounded by falling debris after the missile was intercepted, Maliki said in a statement on the official Saudi Press Agency.

He accused Iran of arming the Houthis “in clear and explicit violation” of UN Security Council resolutions 2216 and 2231.

Maliki also said that Tehran is seeking to destabilize Saudi Arabia and threaten the security of the region and the world.

Firing ballistic missiles on cities and residential areas is contrary to international humanitarian law, he said.

The actions of Houthi militias are a dangerous escalation in the war of terrorist organizations and state sponsors of terrorism such as the Iranian regime, Maliki added.

The coalition on Thursday said it intercepted another missile fired by the Houthis at the southern city of Jazan.

Saudis have gained "immunity" from the missile attacks stemming from Yemen which, if my memory serves me right, started with the Touchka.

The initial element of surprise and the threat did stir panic initially and caused damage, as it should. But judging by the recent missile attacks and how they were largely intercepted, seems like the Saudis have it largely under control at the moment.

The new threat/element of surprise now is the SAM threat targeting the coalition airforce.

The SAM did not succeed against the coalition fighter planes either.. but hopefully a peaceful solution is found soon for the sake of the Yemeni people..

Iran with such level of direct escalation is further pushing middle east towards dangerous conflict. It would put Saudia and Iran directly on war path.

There is already the proxy war going on.. but direct war is not in anyone's interest..
