Saudi Academic: Arabs must accept Israel's right to Jerusalem

That's merely a rebuke. It suggests you have no reply to the author's arguments.

So these are post-Qu'ranic items that do not contest Saied Shoaaib's arguments but instead are supposed to supersede them?

That's just a rant. Why should people respect you when you don't have the answers? Obviously you're just trying to defend the status quo.

The Quran Says Jerusalem Belongs to the Jews

  • Quranic passages clearly illustrate the Jews' imperative to enter the land of Israel.
  • And [mention, O Muhammad], when Moses said to his people, "O my people, remember the favor of Allah [God] upon you when He appointed among you prophets and made you possessors and gave you that which He had not given anyone among the worlds. O my people, enter the Holy Land which Allah has assigned to you and do not turn back and [thus] become losers." — Quran, Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:20-21.
  • According to verses in the Quran, God punishes the Jews for their sin of refusing to fight the indigenous people in the land, and God is angry that the Jews refused to convert to Islam. Yet the verses are consistent in their assertion that God gave the Jews the Holy Land.
Following U.S. President Donald Trump's December 6 official recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital, Muslims around the world held angry demonstrations, during which they chanted slogans about Jerusalem "belonging to Muslims." This ought to seem odd to anyone versed in Islamic scripture, since the Quran specifically states that God promised the land of Israel, including Jerusalem, to the Jews.

Although ordinary Muslims who might not actually have read their holy book could be excused for their ignorance about the Jewish roots of and rights to Israel and Jerusalem, the same cannot be said for the leaders of Muslim countries, imams and the heads of illustrious Islamic institutions. Dignitaries and scholars of that caliber should know better. Yet many of them repeat false assertions that contradict the Quran and scholarly interpretations of its verses.

The fact is that the Quran does not mention Jerusalem or Palestine. It does refer to the sanctity of other holy places, such as Mecca -- which is called the "Mother of Cities" -- where the Prophet Muhammad was born and where the house of God was built by Abraham, the "father of the prophets."

The Quran also mentions the city of Yathrib [Medina], where the Prophet Mohammed emigrated after he was persecuted in Mecca, and the location of his grave and the Prophet's Mosque.

Other cities cited in the Quran are Babel and Aram; and a country named is Egypt. Yet, not only are Palestine and Jerusalem absent from the text; there is a consensus of interpretation among the most respected Sunni and Shiite Muslim scholars of past centuries -- such as Al-Tabari, Al-Qurtubi, Ibn Kathir, Ibn Abi Zayd, Mahmud al-Alusi, Al-Baghawi -- that, according to the Quran, God gave to the Jews the land from the Nile to the Euphrates, territory that includes not only Jerusalem and Palestine, but a large part of Egypt and Iraq, and all of Jordan, Syria and Lebanon.

The following Quranic passages clearly illustrate the Jews' imperative to enter the land of Israel:

  • And [mention, O Muhammad], when Moses said to his people, "O my people, remember the favor of Allah [God] upon you when He appointed among you prophets and made you possessors and gave you that which He had not given anyone among the worlds. O my people, enter the Holy Land which Allah has assigned to you and do not turn back and [thus] become losers." [Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:20-21]
  • They said, "O Moses, indeed within it is a people of tyrannical strength, and indeed, we will never enter it until they leave it; but if they leave it, then we will enter." [Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:22]
  • Two men among those who feared [disobeying the people upon whom] Allah had bestowed favor said, "Enter upon them through the gate, for when you have entered it, you will be predominant. And upon Allah rely, if you should be believers." [Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:23]
  • [The Israelites] said, "O Moses, indeed we will not enter it, ever, as long as they are within it; so go, you and your Lord, and fight. Indeed, we are remaining right here." [Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:23]
  • [The Israelites] said, "O Moses, indeed we will not enter it, ever, as long as they are within it; so go, you and your Lord, and fight. Indeed, we are remaining right here." [Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:24]
  • [Moses] said, "My Lord, indeed I do not possess except myself and my brother, so part us from the defiantly disobedient people." [Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:25]
  • [God] said, "Then indeed, it is forbidden to them for forty years [in which] they will wander throughout the land. So do not grieve over the defiantly disobedient people." [Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:26]
According to the verses above, God punishes the Jews for their sin of refusing to fight the indigenous people in the land. And God is angry that the Jews refused to convert to Islam. The Quran is even harsher towards the Jews when recounting the stories of Muhammad's battles against them. Yet the verses are consistent in their assertion that God gave the Holy Land to the Jews.

The reason this is relevant today is that it exposes the hypocrisy of those radical Muslims who claim to believe in and adhere to the letter of the Quran, yet use the claim that Palestine and Jerusalem are Islamic for political purposes and propaganda.

This is not to say that because the land of Israel was a divine gift to the Jews, they therefore have all rights to it. On the contrary, no future peace between Israelis and Palestinians, both of whom reside there, will or should be determined by scripture. This proclamation, however, is as good a reason as any to stop misquoting it.

Saied Shoaaib is a Muslim writer and researcher, specializing in Islamic movements. He is so-author of the recently published book, SUBMISSION: The Danger of Political Islam to Canada – With a Warning to America, written with co-authors Tom Quiggin, Tahir Gora, Jonathon Cotler, and Rick Gill with a foreword by Raheel Raza. The book is available on Amazon.com in both paperback and Kindle versions.

The Quran calls Jerusalem as the holy city, where Israeli lived as holy land, and the Temple Mount as the holy sanctuary. This holy land belongs to believers of God of Abraham, who practice and live accordingly to the Laws layout by Allah. The believers are suppose will dwell in the holy land only. At that time of Abraham people of Cannans were non believers and Abraham was one so a believer by the permission of Allah claimed the land. The Quran also states the Israelis will cause corruption upon earth.
Qur'an 17:4 And We decreed for the Children of Israel in the Scripture: Ye verily will experience corruption (exile) in the earth twice, but Ye will then after (thumma) ascend (ta’lunna) to a great height (or station).

Qur'an 17:104 : And We said unto the Children of Israel after him: Dwell in the land; but when the promise of the Hereafter (wa3’dul akhirati) cometh to pass We shall bring you as a crowd gathered out of various nations.

The holy land belongs to those who are believers and practicing Muslims. Not to the ones who disobey the laws of Abraham causing corruption on earth. Today they falsely lay claim to Jerusalem while they openly support homosexuality in the holy land and there are gay clubs in the holy city and planning to destroy the holy sanctuary to bring up some temple.

The Quran calls Jerusalem as the holy city -
So Jerusalem is not mentioned in the Quran, it is at most only alluded to?

...where Israeli lived as holy land, and the Temple Mount as the holy sanctuary.
Does this apply today? Abraham, unlike you or I, had a direct line to G-d. Today we have laws. But as far as you are concerned, when a non-believer purchases land in the holy land from a believer, or is gifted such land by a believer, than another believer can steal and kill him anyway? And that this cheat and fraud for gain and the pleasure of murder should be supported by other believers?

The Quran also states the Israelis will cause corruption upon earth...
The quoted verses seem too obscure and allow too many multiple meanings to decisively support your statement here.

'God of Abraham' refers to all three of the Abrahamic religion. By that logic, the Jews still have claim to the land along with Christians and Muslims.

Yes, it does apply today. I am not talking about you and I, or who’s linked to god that I’m not deciding. It’s not like god existed back than and don’t exist today.

I’m just stating what’s in the Quran regarding Bani Israel. The notion of Jerusalem belonging to Israel according to Quran is completely false.

Quran calls Jews as children of Israel, not nation of Israel. Childern of Israel were commanded by God of Abraham to enter the holy land, only to abide there by law layed out by God of Abraham. According to Quran, Muslims are on the right path and practice faith of Abraham and Jews are doing the opposite. So they loose the claim to the land, city and the holy sanctuary, again, according to Quran.

Don't Spread false information Using Verses From Quran and think nobody will be able to reply to your Zionist Propaganda . All the Prophets and their followers were Muslims .
The Quran says in Chapter 3 (Surah Al-Imran) Verse 67 .

"Abraham was not a Jew nor yet a Christian ; but he was true in Faith , and bowed his will to Allah's ( Which is Islam ), and he joined not gods with Allah."

Al-Quds is ours and will be ours . Insha Allah we will soon take it back .

Saudi researcher says Jews have the right to Israel, Jerusalem

Abdul Hamid al-Hakim, the director of the Middle East Center for Strategic Studies in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, has put out a series of tweets that are - for the Arab world - startlingly philo-semitic.

A video about two Jewish brothers from Iraq who were major songwriters there prompted him to say:

The Jews are an integral part of our societies where they have risen at all levels, and the history of the Jews confirms that they are the leaders of civilization in any communities they live in.
I am certain that the dream of our friend Dudu Tassa will be realized, but we will welcome him in Riyadh as they welcome us in Jerusalem.

He visited Israel last year and tweeted this for Yom Haatzmaut:

I congratulate the Israeli society on their Independence Day and address the Arab societies on this occasion. The State of Israel is a historic right for Jews which is confirmed by heavenly books and the history of the region. In 70 years, Israel became a state of the first world and you did not escape your denial of their right to weakness and sectarian wars.

It gets better:

If we want to achieve peace and create a new Middle East that fulfills the aspirations of the peoples of the region, we must address our societies courageously to recognize the historical right of Jews to their state of Israel.
Jerusalem was not the capital of any nation in history except for the Jews. Jerusalem is the door to peace for the region.

Hamid al-Hakim also supports the Trump peace plan and says that Arab societies are getting nothing by supporting Hamas and the PLO.

Needless to say, there are plenty of Arabs who are not fans of al-Hakim's philosemitism. But the fact that there is even a debate in Saudi Arabia about Israel, and about Jewish rights to Israel and Jerusalem, is something astonishing.

.
Saudis are smart and should lead the ummah

and it says a Jew.

:suicide:

Saudi Academic is right, The Jews are the rightful owner of not only Jerusalem, But the entire world.
All praise to the Jews who actually run the fvcking world, you shouldn't mess with them. They even made the history of our country, Our entire identity was created by the Jews. Without them, We were nothing.

I'm very sorry, sir. I won't do it again. :undecided:
