A shocking recording has exposed an Uber driver's indecent proposal to a passenger who says she heard "alarm bells".

Adrienne Horrigan told A Current Affair the incident took place after she ordered an Uber home from a friend's place on the Gold Cast last December.

The recording appears to show the driver trying to convince her to pay her fare "in other ways".

"We can be like, friends with benefits, you know," the driver, Sandeep Singh, says.
Tonight, A Current Affair confronts Mr Singh over the incident, and questions Uber over its response to Ms Horrigan's complaint.

"I was really scared," Ms Horrigan said.
