Comatose Pakistani prisoner Sanaullah dies in India

NEW DELHI: Pakistani prisoner Sanaullaha, who was beaten up by fellow inmates in Indian Held Kashmir's (***) Kot Bhalwal jail, died in a Chandigarh hospital on Thursday, Indian media reported.

Indian media quoted hospital sources as saying, Sanaullah suffered kidney failure on Wednesday which became the main cause of his death.

He died around 05:00 AM on Thursday morning.

Sanaullah, 52, was serving a life sentence in Jammu's Kot Bhalwal jail, was undergoing treatment at Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh, where he was shifted after being hit with a brick and hammer by a fellow inmate on Friday.

The attack followed a similar assault in Pakistan's Kot Lahkpat Jail, which led to the death of Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh.

Though what happened to Sanaullah is definitely deplorable but don't forget he was also a convicted Pakistani terrorist so one better should not glorify a killer terrorist!!

Whatever, these two incidents should never have happened. Just goes to show the undercurrents of strained relations between the people of India and Pakistan in general, never mind the so called 'Aman ki Asha' project. Will things ever change for the better? That's the million dollar question.
