Samsung opens two appliance plants in Bangladesh

Dude really ? What about Micromax, Godrej, IFB, Voltas, Blue Star etc ? Even Micromax's TV division earns more revenue than entire walton group.

Lol!

Do you even understand the meaning of extensive designing and manufacturing capability? Walton's TV division's latest product is the SpectraQ TVs with quantum dot plus technology, the newest in the worldwide TV industry, while your Micromax is only known for selling Chinese smartphones. And this is only one sector, I'm not even mentioning their other products, numbering around 4,000. They basically own a manufacturing park.

Micromax have their own plants in India stupid, they manufacture at many locations including noida.

$400 million walton group is no match for them.

.
Walton's motorcycles couldn't compete with Bajaj, Hero or TVS in your own market & you want to compete with Indian giants in our our market ? For example Blue Star (AC /commercial refrigeration) have twice the revenue of walton group.

How is automotive industry is related here dumbass? Even here, Bajaj and others had the first mover advantage since Bangladesh didn't have manufacturing capability for bikes. Now as the local manufacturing expands, market share of the local companies like Walton, Runner are increasing at rapid pace. Now as the government imposes more SDs on CKD units, those substandard Indian brands will further lose their share.

Automobile industry is a field in which you lost to Indian contenders at the home market, but you still want to export to India ?

your local manufacturers have share of less than 10% & cannot compete with Indian manufacturers qualitatively. As of 2013

And the nitwit strikes again, Micromax mainly imports Chinese smartphones and stamps their ugly label to sell among the daydreaming Indians. They are 'planning' to make smartphones that too on CKD basis.

@Bilal9 Take a look at these Supa Powa claims!

Do you have a brain deficit with stunted growth?

That's all you could come up with, when the market share of your own motorcycle brands is less than 10% ?

They have two plants at Rudrapur & Hyderabad genius.

start with walton

Let's finish the Bangladeshi piped piper!

Last year, Walton Group's annual turnover came to about Tk 3,500 crore.

It has sales centres all over the country and above 400 service points manned by highly skilled personnel. Its service management system is the country's only ISO 9001:2008 standard certified network. It has also achieved ISO 14001:2004 for environmental management system.

3500 crore taka = 2800 crore Rs. which is about 400 million dollars?

Secondly, only management system to have ISO certificate. In India SMEs have mandatory to do this without which no major companies will do business.

Thirdly, 400 service points for 400 products, kidding bitcha?

My father owned a Yamaha since 1977.
That was the mode of family transport.
The bike was easy to handle, easy to ride and easy to maintain.
Now, I personally owns a Bajaj Discover 135.
Excellent bike and no maintenance issues , also mileage is economical.
I used to ride on a number of Japanese and indian brands. Walton and runner bikes are comparable to hero motorcycle(not hero Honda) and no match with bajaj or tvs.
Also , it's my observations that Indian bikes are very much comparable to any japanese brands.

Bhai let's stop wasting time on these people.

Indian businesspeople have been trying to sell Godrej refrigerators and Videocon TVs in Bangladesh for over three decades with no luck, people here don't even look at non - Japanese or non - Korean brands for major home appliances (white goods purchases).

Their home market fridges are of the tiny, dated variety even for higher middle class folks, under 200 liters. These don't have no-frost features, uses old CFC refrigerant and are built to a price, because people there would rather buy dated products if they're cheap. Such a machine would never sell in Bangladesh, given most Bangladeshi meals in our households are way more elaborate, especially during Eid and Ramzan.

Here's one of the common 170 liter ones from videocon, see how small it is.

Compared to that look at the common fridge in Bangladesh which is usually 350 liters plus. Here's one that is 455 liters from Walton.

- Type: Non-Frost
- 3d style & miror finished door
- Gross Volume: 536 Ltr
- Net Volume: 455 Ltr
- CFC Free: R600a

They have made some inroads in selling Indian motorcycles here because they are cheap, freight by road is inexpensive and after sales support is good, thanks to Bangladeshi resellers. Also like you said, import duty has been low to encourage motorcycle ridership compared to car ownership. Well, not for long.

Once local brands start gaining more foothold, they will definitely lobby with the govt. to increase import duty. So this will encourage more indigenous content in local assembled product.
