ISLAMABAD: Former external affairs minister and senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid was all praise for Pakistani PM Nawaz Sharif even as he lashed out at Prime Minister Modi during his invitation lecture at the Jinnah Institute in Islamabad on Thursday.

Analyzing the cross-border relationship between India and Pakistan from his perspective, Khurshid said, "Modi is not used to talking to people who disagree with him."

Speaking about Pak PM Nawaz Sharif attending Modi's swearing-in ceremony in India, the former external affairs minister said, "If you look back at the first face-to-face between our PMs, your PM took a brave, farsighted decision. What we said and did made things uncomfortable for Pakistan after the visit."

"If there has been a leader of democratic Pakistan who wanted peace with India, it is (Sharif, who) was the first non-military [Pakistani] leader to try for peace," Khurshid said at the function.

I have had the (dis) honor of meeting Salman Khushid. He is just the garden variety Gandhi sycophant - son of an old Congress Hand, Stephens and Oxford educated, joined the congress cabal at the appropriate time. Corrupt to the core, inefficient and incompetent except when it comes to licking Gandhian boots.

I don't usually have much truck with ad-hominem, but this is a special case so kindly excuse.

Regards

P.S. If only you were a usual weasel Mr. Salman Khurshid, I would have understood but you had to consistently be a traitor too - that I will not forgive

I can agree with most of your post, based upon my own personal experience. But I have my doubts about the corruption part. I think these Stephens/Oxford old boys networks gain their moral high-ground from not being directly involved in corruption. Of course, nepotism, turning a blind eye to the unsavoury activities of their cohorts, etc, come as second nature to them. Mani Shankar Iyer is another one - his personal erudition is in sharp contrast to his sycophancy and apologetics on the UPA's mammoth 10-year corruption march.

Erudition should not be confused with a great vocabulary and fluency in speech. I assure you Khurshid is corrupt - with a big C. I don't have any personal experience with Mani Shankar Aiyer regarding corruption hence wouldn't comment but again I haven't seen any noteworthy original output from his pen.

Kurshid must have gone nuts, it one criticizing polices of government inside the country. but when your visiting outside you are representing India.

Why these jokers are still tolerated is beyond my understanding

Mani Shankar is fine - if you discount his toxic tongue and sycophancy towards the Family. I honestly could never figure out people like Diggy and Mani. Diggy was doing fine in MP, which, as usual, piqued the Family. Today he is nowhere, and MP does not even remember he exists, all thanks to the Family. Yet he is more loyal than a basset hound. Same goes for Mani - was petroleum minister and had problems with Industry and was shunted out. And yet, oh the loyalty. Beats me, really.

That is the only way to survive in Congress, I guess. BJP is going the same way. Modi is all well and good but the culture of leader centric party he espouses would leave BJP bereft of capable leaders with a backbone in future.

Sad really, BJP was the only proper mainstream cadre based party left in India. Not counting communists and semi- political groups like Maoists of-course.

True. And it's not just hurting BJP within. The way things have shaped up in our form of governance, give-and-take is a the only way to get things done. Government couldn't make headway on Land Bill, GST Bill, etc. Unless they learn to work with the opposition, their authoritarian style won't get them anywhere.

So the traiter in him flows like a river when he is in Pakistan, there is no surprise, this is what modi was saying, look beyond the smoke screen, the hidden agenda of the seculars, they will sell India in the first given instant, and salman keep it up why have you stopped from praising Hafiz stayed, or the more Arab of all Arabs sir shahenshah-e-pakistan just returned from jail all topi zaid Hamid, or he would have also praised Osama as saint, as he always says with respect to as Osamaji, salman the same salman who runs a fraudulant NGO who cheat disabled people, by buying things for his house saying that he bought it for the disabled. This salman had threatened that if anybody investigated his NGO then,he said mein kalam se nahinn khoon se likh doonga.

.
I wont go to extent of calling him a traitor, please spare that crap for pakistanis.
But BC vote ke liye kuch bhi kahega.

Sometimes you really have to wonder if these people are on the payroll of the ISI - so careless they are of the interests of India.
