Should the government introduce salary caps?

Sir meri walida khud apke dept se tauluq rakhti hai.

Government or private sector both should Come up with a working plan in this regard.

By the way salary cap after countrywide health insurance kay baad hi aega.
still i dont agree with this....dekhen depts k beech main jo pay ka farq hai aap usko pehle khatam karo...let me give you a few examples...
1.secretariat k employees ko honoraria milta hai which is equal to a full pay twice a year on eids jo humain nai milta
2.assembly k employees ko har ijlas pe ek basic pay milti hai apart from their salaries
these are just 2 examples aur bhi examples hain where employees enjoy greater perks and rishwat as compared to us..
what i am trying to say is sab ko ek bracket main naa dalen...warna is se bohat nuqsan hoga

Salaries should be defined realistically and depend on performance...more like corporate sector does. It pays only if the person generates revenue for it.

Moreover, a lot of cronies have been appointed on key positions in govt owned companies like the CEO of Solar Power Plant in Bahawalpur has been given a huge compensation per month while neither his job is too difficult or dangerous nor he generated any business rather it is was a flopped project due to corruption and kickbacks.

Ek bracket me nahi daal raha me janaab. Mujhe government payscale ka idea ha.

Laken maujooda surat e haal me sakhat qadam uthane parenge

It is demand and supply equation ..If you artificially ballance it then it will backfire ..Its like telling gold should not cost more than 25 times of iron ..Time will come when people are not ready to do chaprasi work and everyone works to become ceo then naturally equation tilts .

It will certainly backfire ..When demand is extreme supply will raise exponentially ballancing the equation but if you put cap then required pull to raise the supply will not be there effecting the ballance of the system ..

Having worked in UK Civil Service, a similar pay structure should be adopted for all government departments in Pakistan.

Expensive to live cities like London have London weighting added to the basic salary.

Pay bands have caps on basic and benefits.

Basic salaries should be enough for respectable living, such as rent, insurances, food, travel etc.

Problem in Pakistan is that low grade officers really struggle due to their pay scales. Those salaries should be increased and top decreased.

I voted no. I think such a move might be seen as anti business and anti commerce. Instead of limiting wealth creation, we should ensure wealth circulation.

1. Zakat. We should be taking zakat at state level from everyone who is eligible to pay zakat. This zakat should be distributed to the real needy.

2. All salaries should be paid via bank accounts. This way all salaries can be taxed.

3. A high threshold to paying income tax. Poorer people should not be paying income tax.

4. A minimum wage. There should be an enforced minimum wage for all adults should be set at a level which allows them to earn a decent living.

5. Workers unions should be setup to independently monitor businesses and look out for workers rights. Any bosses not registering workers as staff or paying off the books should be reported to the government and face huge fines.

6. Reduction of indirect taxation. Tax should come from businesses and salaries, not from mobile phone top ups and fuel. This sort of indirect taxation puts a burden on those who can't afford to bear it.

7. Wealth Tax. On top of zakat, we should consider a wealth tax on any type of economic activity considered negative, for example owning multiple properties to rent, or not farming farmland.

8. To enable all of the above we need an economic census so we know exactly what each person is earning, what their expenses are and how much state support they need. Anyone who needs support should receive it (on priority basis). This will incentive's people to register and become part of the "system" after which their economic activity can be tracked via bank accounts.

9. Having said that, there should be reasonable pay caps on government salaries. I don't think a set maximum is necessarily a good idea, but rather a ratio, ie the highest government earner can only earn x times what the lowest earner makes. This way of the salaries at the top increase, they increase all over. It'd be much harder to justify huge pay rises if they meant a pay rise for everyone!

Salaries of people is not problem , Problem is not paying Taxes higher salaried people should be paying more Taxes

Minimum Monthly Wage in Pakistan should be around $350 Dollar figure
Upper limit should not exist some jobs are more technical more responsibility

  • Politicians salaries should be monitored and bank accounts monitored

Sales tax of 35% should be applied so 200 Million people pay close to 13 Billion - 26 Billion Tax

Goal should be all positions should see a Pay raise every 5 years

The salary of MNAs and MPAs should be high. They should be getting at least 5 lakh rupees per month for their services to Pakistan. This will alleviate corruption too.

No it really shouldn’t. Salary caps destroy competition which is a necessity for a economy.

Isnt it funny how our indian neighboura advise us but dont look within...the slum of delhi and mumbai and their respective skyscrapers are no reflection of rich poor divide
