Your country will never return to that state. I think the likes of Iran will let Iraq be split into 3 different parts before allowing some "saddamist" to rule over a whole Iraq again.

Saddam had the calibre to hold the country together. Iraq might need some sort of temporary authoritarian system and then can gradually shift to a democratic system.

this has nothing to do with Iran.... Iraqis protested, and got a change In government.... what else do they want? give the government time to work and if it fails protest again or something...

Soleimani, and Iran backed militias saved Iraq from ISIS... even the americans admit it. The Iraqi army disintegrated and ISIS was steamrolling everyone when the US and Saudis were laughing and talking about "sunni oppression from maliki to blame"

I do believe Iran's influence in Iraq is exagerated, the US has far much bigger influence, for example the US could easly kill AlSadr right now if they want to, so yeah I do think this has nothing to do with Iran, Iran already has enough problems & that's why they are trying to stay out of it, they don't want to take sides (at least not openly).

changing the face of the ruler is not enough, what is needed is regime change.

the current regime is anarchy itself, especially since the rulers have their own gangs that kill civilians who dare to ask for simple things such as electricity, clean drinking water etc... therefore taking it down would bring order.

the main fighting force against ISIS was not that one guy Soleimani or the current ruling militias but it was volunteers from the civilian population, they were the real Hashid & after ISIS was defeated they simply went back to their daily lives.
for sure groups such as Asaib Ahl AlHaq & others did greatly help against ISIS & have even acted as a spear head, however if any militia thinks that contributing against ISIS gives them the right to kill & kidnap civilians who protest against corruption then they are terribly mistaken.

PMU took a supportive holding force role, holding and securing areas liberated by the army and ISOF in post 2015 operations

2014-2015, PMU was responsible for a majority of operations. That changed in mid 2015 during the Tikrit operation, since then army, ISOF, federal police and ERD led all battles.

So it can be described as a joint effort, however Pmu made the Mosul operation much harder by cutting off the western exit and besieging the city outside of the actual battle plan. Why? So they don't go to Syria. Not that Syria cared much to do the same in Deir Al Zour operation
