Sad times as NA passes resolution to rename QAU's Abdus Salam Centre

You know that the claim by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is not the only attack on the fundamentals of Islam. Legalizing usury is another such an attack, for example. Another is an epistemological attack, where Muslims think that a book of Economics, or a book of Politics or a book of Science is equal or higher to the Quran.

This "mess" of the State of Pakistan not recognizing Ahmadis as Muslims for the purposes of Law, is created by Mr Bhutto and the National Assembly of Pakistan, who was a very evolved man, if I am to go by accounts told of him.
I presume you are talking about this specific point. General Zia ul Haq just added a few ordinances...the real meat was laid down by Mr Bhutto.
You also need to understand, what democracy means.
We have no means of true democracy I admit it.
But in democracy majority is authority.
In Pakistan majority almost 99 percent of non Ahmedi community, consider Ahmedi non Muslims. There is full consensus overall in every sphere of our country, be it extremely right or extreme left.

Yes I know. Thank you. I was just pointing out that the National Assembly when she made that amendment was acting in a democratic fashion and was truly representative of the People. Not only that but a "liberal" Prime Minister convened this debate.

Ummmm no. Ahmedis are not allowed to serve in Pak army. And while they do work in govt institutions according to the demands of Khadim Wheelchair their identities might be exposed and their lives might be in danger. Muslims in India have it bad, but atleast they have freedom of identity. I don't think any ahmedi would have the guts to come out in public and admit to his faith.

Sorry for late reply due to net issues but perhaps u don't know that Ahmedis are serving in PA. Please get info from any Army person. They are seving on some of key posts. One I persoanlly met was commanding and Arty Regt, other was Station Commander, third declared one was also commanding a unit. Please get info then comment.

Abdus Salam was a hero and an exemplary Pakistani, who the hell is al-khazini?
Your argument should be with Pak Govt rather than from Alkhizini. Abdus Salam was a great physicist but on point of exemplary Pakistani many may have different views from u.

How exactly is al khazini related to Pakistan? Also, Abdus Salam was a great physicist and his religious background is not relevant in that assessment. Clearly it bothers you that I called him an exemplary Pakistani, you need to look beyond the mundane and focus on what this guy actually achieved and is remembered for.

There is consistent ignorance in Pakistani English print media about Dr. Saleem uz Zaman Siddiqui, Dr. Riazuddin, MEhboob ul Haq, Dr. Muneer Ahmed Khan, AQ Khan etc.... whereas there has been a promotion blitzkrieg of Dr. Abdus Salam in Dawn, Tribune, defence.pk , etc... Salam had left PAkistan in 1974/75. There is fake information about him on wikipediafrom space program to n=uclear program. He had no hand in Pakistan becoming a nuclear power. Yet he has benn singled out and promoted vocifeorusly in our english print media publications post 2012. Wish to say Pakistan had many great scientists who had not won Nobel Prize but did more contribution than him for Pakistan but were never acknowledged this certain segment that either promotes Ahmadis or NGOs.

I shall comment no more as Dr Abdus Salam was a high class physicist but you should not impose your hidden views on majority of Pakistanis. All respects for Dr Sb as a physicist but on other side I have my differences about his opinion even about Pak Nuclear Program which are not based on the net forum, but views of many intellectuals who also have done much for this country but they are not famous.

Interesting what exactly would these hidden views of mine be?

Heartily condolence to all those associate engineers recruited by abdus salam on engineering posts in atomic energy commission on the basis of faith.... There is no need to show extremism of change of name because Al Khazini was also a great scientist.

Some people condemn dr abdul qadeer on his work, i have a point of view against dr abdus salam. He surely did not performed any great thing for Pakistan. His faith mates always exaggerates his role in atomic energy commission. Atleast, Al-Khazini did something which we can acknowledge instead of ditching own motherland.

No difference between malala and abdus salam. Both played for others instead of us. Ignoring all hateful, extremist replies in advance. CHEERS!

Now people of his religion should learn especially senior ones that when we speak for Muslims they are one nation whether one is from Iran or KSA, Arabic or non Arabic.
If some Muslim do not follow that due to utter ignorance or false propaganda by non Muslims then rule does not apply to all Muslims.
I hope Jangibaaz and others got Muslim point of view that Dr Abdus Salam did nothing for Pak nuclear program although he could do wonders. He left country as Ahmedis were declared as Non Muslims not only by Pak Ulammas but Islamic scholars through out the Islmic world were consulted.

On other side respect should be there for his work in Physics but if we go for Pakistani interest the name of center should be Samar Mubarik Center. All Muslims should connect to their past to progress in future.
