There is nothing to be gained for India by being friendly with Iran until the nuclear issue is resolved.

Why should Iran as NPT member be deprived of its legitimate rights of developing nuclear technology?

Is it because Iranian regime openly challenges the US hegemony in the Middle East and therefore should not be allowed to possess a technology that can potentially create a debacle for US interests in the region?

Dude that's an individual's opinion not the entire West's opinion. Just like this is your opinion not your country's opinion. If I say China will fall in line because we owe you, would it mean my country is treating your's like an indentured servant?

Read the article dude, you 'll know. The sanctions are mean't to isolate the regime but India and China are huge importers of fuel from Iran. That's taking the bite off the sanctions.

Dude its business. India trades with the West, India trades with China, with Iran, with Israel, with Saudi and also Pakistan.
That's it. We are not interested in any rivalry with anyone.
India's only problems are its border disputes with neighbours. When it comes to trade we are friends with everyone. I think India is more non aligned than it ever was.
