The best thing about Sachin is that unlike other cricketers he does not run after women. He is just focused on one thing - his cricket.

that's what makes him special. one has to wonder how someone who has achieved so much in every aspect of life can remain so grounded?? can't think of any other individual, at least in india!

It may be his family background. His father was a very good poet in Marathi. His very middle class background where education and culture is valued very high may have moulded his personality. Humility is considered a virtue still in parts of India.

The greatest batsman to ever play the game yet he is so down to earth..That is what makes him what he is today.. I have always rated LARA better when it comes to talent. But Sachin has achieved all this because of his humble nature..

In pakistan , when a cricketer appraoches a mile stone that will eclipse some old Pakistani player's mile stones , he is suddenly kept out of the team by selectors so that player cannot out shine them.

Example:
Inzimam or Yousif Mohammad , they were kept out of team when they wanted to reach 10,000 runs, infact most obvious is the example of how Mohammad Yousif was banned after he had a steller season with bat scored like runs a bucket ...they were both capable of reaching 10,000 runs mile stones but for some reason ... cricketing gods in Pakistan did not wanted them to contine.... both missed alot of test series in last 5 years of their lives

other example is during wasim akram's time , waqar younis was mysteriously kept out due to professional jealousy

PCB never supports players well being , it looks to "tax cricketers income" example when Shoaib went to play in India all the greedy , PCB officials banned him for nonesense accusations so they can get "BHATTA" tax , from Shoaib under the table to give him forgiveness ... none sense tax money like he was friendly to fans at the stadium or things of that nature or signing autographs or going out with his friends in night

The problem is not the crickters the problem lies in PCB itself ..

The 10% core is all currupt and its like a dead kill on road, but they stay in power behind the scenes, the only people who get the axe are the players who are simple minded who opt to become coaches or trainers....

These road kill officials love to be in administrative jobs hiding away from public scrutiny

These are all shady characters - Even not all selectors are currupt 1-2 are legit the other 8 are all bought out , who ellect special players

There is just too much professional jealousy in Pakaistani PCB

Also Pakistani team does not plays enough Test cricket series , they MUST play regular 6 test series games vs quality opposition , and ample amount of ODI .

20/20 should be played for 1 month only in 12 month season

Even Ramiz Raja got sick of the CEO post in PCB he said he loves to commentate in games, and can't handle corporate politics of PCB , 95% of PCB is crook !! organization

BCCI is not PCB. Truck load of money and legends at the helm. VS ....well, i dont want to come across as rude....

BCCI is more professional , PCB is disjointed group of politcial figures its not a real organization proven by fact that it has not supported the 3 pakistani cricketers with ICC even when there was no sufficient evidence

PCB mantra is , as long as you will give us a cut , we will vote for you to be ICC president, we will also play series with you and we will even give up World Cup provided you give us money

PCB has a policy of making the most honest ppl the selectors , but here is the deal , they themselves give approval to any selection .. so when team performs badly they hide away and replacing selectors and captains..

No one really knows who is in PCB ? its a shaddy group like Al Qaida no one knows who is in it .. except for ocassional press releases normally the press releases come out in calculated times in news paper after a defeat , where they back stab each other ...


I remember 1 Abdul Qadir , in 20/20 when our Pakistani team was doing well he was man of honor he handed his resignation and right after our team started performing - we need people like that !! Its the spirit he showed ...

Now .. after that shaddy semi final game , who stepped up to say ok we were wrong to play like that I resign ? has anyone stepped up ? no ... they are all in hiding

Javed miandad was very simple when he started, these PCB old gurus made him a scrape goat making him team captin to get rid of him.... not one but 2-3 times

Untill he figured out the plan ... and now he decided he will run for chairperson position or director
and he also has political backing now ...

So the whole PCB is a part of currupt political system ...

If it was based on merit we would not have Kamran Akmal playing , we would not have Younis Khan nor Misbah in team

He can't play in pressure situation. Good that we got so many match winners. Inzamam and Lara may not have record like him but they are match winner.

At the age of 37+ and in a pressure tournament like world cup he only scored 480+ runs( second highest)..with a pathetic average of 53+...

He should have scored 1000+ with average of 120+ runs per game..

You are quite correct in your assessment. His family's values have had a major role in defining his attitude to his game and to his life. And he has come from a very middle class background. But his values endured.
Now compare his record with his childhood friend and cricketing team-mate Vinod Kambli. Where is he now?
