On 31st October 2012, 11 years ago, the FC-31 demonstrator number '31001' had its maiden flight.

It was the predecessor of the PLAN Naval Aviation's next generation carrier-borne fighter J-35 currently under development at SAC.

Looks nice if that is the definitive version. Wonder if they will develop a airforce version based on this - or will that carry over from the origina FC-31 ? For reasons of commonality and scale of production, using this as a baseline for an airforce variant would make alot of sense ( assuming of course a PLAAF version will be developed ).

We expect that Egypt will turn to the J-10 aircraft, with an improved version that may appear within a year. The contract between Egypt and China will be a comprehensive deal for the aircraft and ammunition to be implemented within a number of years and with local production licenses.
When the FC-35 plane enters service in the Chinese Air Force, Egypt will contract for it, perhaps in large numbers and with a local production license as well, but any Egyptian negotiations with China will not be close. The plane has not yet entered service with the Chinese Air Force, and Egypt’s policy is for any fighter to enter service with the country. The factory has been manufactured for a period longer than two years to ensure that there are no technical problems with it

Will this variant be J10D? What improvements will be made?

J10C looks good enough for a 4++ Jet so any more changes will be the weaponry upgrades etc. Hopefully Pakistan will also get some latest updates on the J10C which are still to be exported.

Egypt certainly needs the cutting edge J10C fighter jets and then go for the J35s.

Looks amazing but it should have been ready by now, by 2030s Usa will bring out their 6th Generation planes whilst China still doesn't have the navy 5th generation fighter.

The theater of operations is what determines the specifications of the aircraft. The J-10 aircraft needs to become lighter and improve the levels of its electronics package, as it will face air weapons that possess the F-35 and F-15 fighters.
The Chinese talked about the J-10CY version for Egypt, but simply delaying the entry of the J-10 aircraft into Egypt until 2025 is simply due to the fact that there are modifications that require some time. This reminds us of the K-8E aircraft, from the time the contract was signed with China until the time the first aircraft appeared. This required two years, and I believe. The same tactic works

The FC-35 plane Egypt needs to replace the F-16 BLOCK 15 fighters and MIRAGE-2000BM/EM
