S-300VM Air Defence System will be good for BAF then new jets

Yes it can shoot down jets but it can be prevented from shooting down MIG's and Sukhoi's. Why would Russia sell Bangladesh an air defense system that can shoot down jets that it sold to India?

Bangladesh an independent country, if BD can finance the deal.

Russia will export them….

.
Lankan Ranger, India and Bangladesh have no significant conflict of interest and weaponizing the region is unnecessary. Instead of opening such thread so which weapons Bangladesh should buy why don't you focus on posting articles where people have expressed genuine interest to acquire them.

Not without Indian consent. Try to understand that every weapon given to Bangladesh has been discussed at the defence level between Russia and India. Russia will not be keen on rocking the boat with India for the sake of few million dollars worth defence trade with Bangladesh.

We are not buying off Russian Air Defense is that so hard to perceive?
Do read the previous page for upcoming procurements, which is not from russia.

If S300 is considered, everyone knows this is India specific.
Seriously, why is so hard for to you to get it. Indian Airforce is predominantly dominated by Russian beauties. Russia will be foolish to sell this system to BD and expect India to be OK with it.

That is why I think that it will not be wise for BD to even contemplate going for Russian weapons .

Although BD does not really think that India will ever become really hostile to it, BD still needs to purchase advanced weapons to maintain it's sovereignty. I think the best course of action for BD this decade is to buy small amounts of advanced jets, submarines and SAM systems. This will give the BD military invaluable experience in the operation of these systems. Although the equipment will be top rate, the limited number will mean that it will still not be a real deterrent if India decided to attack. By the next decade when the economy is a lot stronger then BD can go for purchasing large amounts of hardware with a large proportion coming from the Chinese - systems such as the one-engined stealth fighter, Type-054B frigate, even more advanced Type-039 diesel submarines and a highly advanced SAM system will be available. An added bonus is that these high-quality systems from China should still be cheaper(maybe 1/3rd less) than comparable systems from the US or Europe.

As far as Russia SAM systems go, might wanna look at how Georgia procured the BUK M1s from Ukraine.

"Analysts stipulated that Georgian Buk and Tor missile systems were responsible for downing four Russian aircraft—three Sukhoi Su-25s close air support aircraft and a Tupolev Tu-22M strategic bomber—in the 2008 South Ossetia war. U.S. officials have said Georgia's SA-11 Buk-1M was certainly the cause of the Tu-22M's loss and contributed to the losses of the three Su-25s. According to some analysts, the loss of four aircraft is surprising and a heavy toll for Russia given the small size of Georgia's military. Some have also pointed out, that Russian electronic counter-measures systems were apparently unable to jam and suppress enemy SAMs in the conflict and that Russia was, surprisingly, unable to come up with effective countermeasures against missile systems it had designed.
These missile systems sold to Georgia by the Ukraine which were used to shoot down Russian Jets during the war, are believed to have been sold to Georgia illegally."

Answer is simple. it wont be able to shoot IAF aircrafts..We already have the countermeasures..

.
1.The selection of items is a matter of detail, but BD is working on fol air def arrangements:

a. A ground based Swarming Air Def covering the entire surface area with Stringer versions which are mobile and movable in the riverine and soft terrain of BD.
b. Around 3xSqns of fighters that can match IAF - along with ground support system.
c. Static air def weapons for KPIs/VAs.
d Self-contained airdef for all land, naval and air installations and establishments incl naval ships.

2. BD has already shown interest in S-300VM already. Ploitics matter, of course.

.
200 KM range sounds reasonable but if you can't shoot down MIG's and Sukhoi's what is the point?

 lol. I can't stop laughing with such comments.

What about Brahmos with 300 KM range ??. Don't apply too much of mind. Concentrate on Topic only.

Buk has been upgraded after that i think .

My point is different from the one you think that I was making. Don't jump to conclusions.

My point exactly. If we buy Russian then our air defence system would actually be an extension of the Indian air defence system targeted at China. That would not be a friendly gesture to the regional superpower.

Buk has been upgraded after that i think .

Upgraded? Yes, by the Ukrainians. The Russians weren't able to come up with countermeasures against a relatively primitive SAM. And Russia don't use the system themselves anymore.

Usually, when a country exports a particular weapon system to another country, it ensures that it doesn't violate its own interests in the region. And in this case, Russia. The USA applies the same practice.

That's why the Georgians did not trust the Russians. So they turned to the Ukrainians for upgrades - which was officially illegal.

India and Russia are close allies :D
