India’s state-run Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) has started Taxi Trials of India’s Rustom-2 Medium altitude long endurance (MALE) unmanned air vehicle (UAV) prior to its first flight planned for the end of next month informed Sources close to idrw.org.
Sources say Series of Taxi Trials have been planned for this month so that Rustom-2 can be ready for its first flight by the end of next month or by early May.
Rustom-2 at present is overweight by over 700kgs and all out efforts are been made to reduce weight to bring it under requested qualitative requirements, ADE has promised pre-production models of Rustom-2 UAVs will be able to meet user requirements by 2020 when it hopes it will enter production.
