Some of the chatter on the internet is saying that it is the Chinese deep pockets which are making Russia cozying up to Pakistan a bit?

As for Russia wanting Americans out of Afghanistan--that's what Pakistan too want especially when whatever pitiful 'aid' is cut off to Pakistan. And when Americans leave Afghanistan then Pakistan's strategic options in Afghanistan will likely increase at the expense of India's. Am I right?

China might pressure Russia to be nice with Pakistan. We have seen RD-93 engine sales to Pakistan. China can bankroll Russian weapon sales to Pakistan. The question is whether they will.

Pakistani influence in Afghanistan will increase if Americans leave. Given geography India is no position to fight Pakistan one on one in Afghanistan. India can raise the costs of Pakistani intervention. the other option is an alliance with Iran and Central Asia to deny Pakistan control.

I think sometimes you have to choose between money and a true friend. Yes who doesn't like money. That will help them build their economy and more weapons-industry, while Pakistan is a decayed and eaten to the core nation that is mostly in a begging state (thanks to our professional scoundrel of political leadership) with nothing to offer. However, as China can attest a friend in need is a friend indeed. Poor or haggard in nature, Pakistan is a nation that has proven to be a credible and "sincere" friend of China. Some believe the Muslim alliance with Rum prophesized in Surah Rum of Quran MIGHT still have not materialized in the divine and more meaningful sense that it was intended. If it is written in divine ordained destiny, the haters are welcome to try and stop this alliance.

their are many things which Russia need to do and for that they need Pakistan firstly and most important they want usa out of Afghanistan and to do so they strongly need Pakistan as Pakistan is the only country to whom Afghan Taliban do listen secondly if Russia didn't needed warm water then why they came in Afghanistan so saying they don't need warm water is not correct thirdly as india is tilting more towards usa those big ticket weapons deal with Russia are also in question mark because sooner or later usa will ask to stop purchasing arms from Russia
currently china is the second biggest buyer of Russian arms and they both have very strong and close relations so China relations with Russia will also matters losing india as a customer will be a big below but that can be recovered by adding new customers

india use investment in T-50 project to some way black maile the Russian but they are forgetting that project is soon to be complete and after that it will be time of gaining fruits of investment and at that time their black mailing can be backfired

It depends on the kind of co-operation with Russia and China

NATO is a military alliance against Russia. It does not preclude member states from having friendly relations with Russia. KSA and Qatar are American allies in certain sense. Pakistan is not anti-American as Pakistanis would portray it.

Actually the majority of Pakistanis consider USA a bigger threat than India. However this is not reflected much in government's policies because of certain factors corruption being the rampant. However if some like Imran comes to power rest assured things with US will change drastically.

Stop looking everything from Indian prism. You just don't make money BY selling equipments you forge new relationships and converge your infested with theirs.

Secondly, regardless they are selling us engines to power our 17's. I see where Indian have terribly failed in stopping that.

Russia has a port in Syria and they do not have a direct border.

Gwadar could serve as a temporary base for the Russian navy in the Arabian Sea/IOR to balance the power against NATO?
