Every ship nowadays actually have more firepower due to technology we have missiles and ballistic missiles along with autocannons and other modern stuff this basically made those huge cannons of battleships become obsolete.

Todays ships can easily pack more firepower than some big *** battleship. There is a reason why we have lighter and medium ships because its not worth building behemoths.

Kirov class is the closest to a battleship but not really a battleship as it is a battle cruiser but it is armed with state of the art weapons.

Battleship era is over unless if USA, Russia and other Great Powers and Regional Powers are willing to build huge *** battleships with modern technology.

Yes it does because destroyers never held big guns because destroyers mainly prefered for mobility. Battlecruisers were basically the only ships that could challenge Battleships like Dreadnoughts, Bismarck, Iwowa, Yamato and other enormous battleships.

This a corvette, corvettes can pack lots of firepower while being mobile. Battleships have long been proven obsolete that you dont need enormous behemoths that waste resources and funds when you can invest in mobile ships along with airpower also submarines.

A one well shot torpedo can easily bring down a battleship especially with modern day submarines. There is a reason why battleships are dead for good they are just not worth the cost. But with railguns being developed we might see a revival of battleships perhaps.

it looks like battleships are dead because range of missiles & rockets have exceeded the range of artillery
of course naval aviation does not help
