Pakistani triumph? Indian failure? It all depends on the context in which one analyzes the developments.
From an Indian perspective, if one of the objectives of Indian diplomacy is to "isolate Pakistan", then yes, the recent developments in Pakistan's relations with Russia, US, EU, China (yes, even China, in that the oft touted 'billions of dollars in Chinese investment' actually appears to be solidifying into some concrete projects, even if not all of them will eventually come to fruition) clearly point to a failure of a very strong and sustained Indian diplomatic offensive since the Mumbai attacks.
However, an Indian failure to "isolate Pakistan internationally" does not automatically constitute a "victory" for Pakistan, though it is tempting to cast it as such. In maintaining diplomatic relations with significant global power centers, Pakistan has largely maintained the status quo, with a net improvement if recent developments need to be given some weight (though I would argue it is too soon to tell if anything tangible will result).
At the end of the day, from a Pakistani perspective, "diplomatic success" needs to be defined holistically, and is tied to significant improvements in economic performance and governance domestically. Yes, the Russians are interested in doing business with Pakistan, as are the EU countries and even the US, but Pakistan needs money to buy their products and a strong domestic economy (predicated on domestic stability) to interest their private and government entities into investing in Pakistan.
Seriously m8 do you really think pakistan is gonna replace india? While India is doing the talking we are cementing our place as a credible regional power.

I read all the post in this thread and want to show Indians something which they don't want to accept and always in denial mode.
Bottom line: Don't treat Russia like it is nothing without India and if Russia stop to give you excess to her advance technology now India will be finish in next years in terms high end technology know how and that is some thing west will even offer you. India is bride of west and they will fulfill every demand of her and when time goes on they stop things one by one and by that time Russia will be on Chinese/ Russian block.
- Economy wise Russia is bigger then India
- Russia is far more superior in terms industrialization
- Russia is bigger country then India in term of area of land
- Russia is veto power
- Russia produces its own weapons from basic weapons to advance weapons.
- Russian export is more then Indian export in high end technology
- Russia is Space superpower
Exactly. It is not about total victory or defeat. The net gaining and losing is that matters. It is about a relationship being built in two regional players which has been worst in history. The relationship is going to matter in regional stability specially in Afghanistan after U.S leaves.Pakistani triumph? Indian failure? It all depends on the context in which one analyzes the developments.
