I recommend reading "War at the Top of the World" by Eric Margolis. In that book the author talks about seeing maps in Mujahedeen camps with areas labelled as "temporarily occupied by USSR" and "temporarily occupied by China".
If I were China, I would be making preparations too to prevent any such rebellions. Especially if an agency as potent as the CIA can get involved, things can get really ugly.
