Russia's airstrikes on Syria appear futile with little progress on ground

topic of this thread and that article and my comment have nothing to do with some fan boy's comments in a forum.

relations between Iran and Russia is based on common interests, the amount of money which they have spent in Syria is way more than the amount which they have gained through selling arms to us.

Except some very few (or should I say one), no government in the world cares about religion. they all follow their interests in the framework of materialism. so there is no actual difference between Communism, liberalism, socialism, etc. as far as we are concerned, Russians respect more to moral values than some other countries, some which even call themselves Islamic.

Hitler was foolish. Instead of carving out Germany;s sphere of influence in Asia/Africa and Middle east like Britain, U.K, France and Russia did. He instead wanted to conquer the whole of Europe(including taking on big powers like Britain and its empire) and even Russia. That was the most foolish thing to do ever taking on other advanced/industrialized powerful world powers.. You might be strong, but NEVER take on big(or bigger) powers head on directly. It's a lose-lose situation(even if at the end you win, you will be so weakened that other powers will be the one to benefit from your 'victory'). Even at the height of our empire when we ruled the four seas/world uncontested, we really never toke on a big power like say Russia head on for no good reason, it want worth it( its not like that we couldn't defeat them in any naval confrontation).

IT'S ONE THING TO HAVE POWER,BUT ITS ANOTHER THING TO KNOW WHEN AND HOW TO USE IT. :)
Hitler clearly didnt know howto use Germany's formidable military might unlike the U.S, U.K and even Russia did.:)

Yes, Hitler was foolish but Stalin wasn't. The point is there are still plenty people who believe what they believed and that's a tragedy for this world.

Seriously, who takes the English seriously any more?

The Guardian!

lol
That,s why i said bullcrap.
Russian airstrikes are the nightmares for the ISIS.
And all these NATO allies are having the pain in the a$$.Before the russian strikes they were against the ISIS and now their real faces are coming out of mask.

Two Points: What is Russian measurement of success? That they are able to fly in Syria without loosing anymore aircrafts? Or that they have been able to stop the steady advances of anti-Assad forces? Or that their Naval base is secured? Or the Ukrainian entanglement is off the Radar?

US and it's 'lapdogs' have managed to further their strategy. Look at the Muslim world, all are fighting each other and utter chaos reigns in progressive nations. Started with Iraq then Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Yemen, Syria .. and the latest is Turkey is back fighting the Kurds in its south eastern region. Stability is lost, quietly US has shifted to shale and increased its oil production while destabilizing med east. It is reaping the profits, controlling the oil prices so that your economies are down in the drain (and if you think it is not so just compare one indicator, the rouble today to what it was back in 2003-05) by lowest oil prices in years, further has fuelled insurrection by pitting Iran vs Saudi Arabia. A master stroke of realpolitik. It has finished Saudi Arabia by propping up Iran, put Shias vs Sunnis and thus negated the ever present danger of islamist attacks to a certain extent and all the while strengthened its economy by reaping oil profits and selling military hardware to all sides. And yeah .. it has pushed Russia more into a mess ... from which Russia can not withdraw easily without loosing face.

Its not only in the thread, it is a systematic policy. And spectacular. The whole of Muslim world is fighting one another ....!

US is playing with kids. I mean real power of Islam neither lies in Saudi Arabia nor in Iran. In fact what US is doing is blessing in disguise. Rotten eggs are coming to surface one after the other. Let this clean up process continue. You may see a refined Muslim world in next twenty years.

Unlikely. The schism between Shia-Sunni is too deep. Additionally, just take the long term effect of such issues in case of Pakistan itself. Once more modern and progressive than the Indian society as also considered at par with west till 70s, has become a source of fundamentalist ideology today and is forever connected by some or the other way to any violent act. The ramifications of policies of 70s till 90s are being seen till date. But yeah, my hopes are there for refinement too albeit over a longer time frame

The schism between Shia and Sunni is as deep as oil wells in Middle East. But one day both will dry lol.

Shia are roughly 20% of Muslim world. Out of 80% Sunni people only 25% have problem with Shia. That 20% versus 25% is the area anyone can exploit. So yes US is playing with kids.

After 90s now 2015 hopefully you see refinement in Pakistani establishment. Who once made that policies. It didn't take more than two decades.
