Russians, Israelis have 'occupied' Goa's coastal villages: Congress MP

Listen, with the magnitutde of corruption going on over there, its very easy to sway votes in a particular way if you have the resources. There are some Jewish restauants and hostels in Goa, Mumbai, HP that are/were barring Indians from entering.

before I reply in detail, can you provide some sound sources to back your claims?
Also has the angle of sexual harassment against western women in those states been taken into account for not letting people of some background from patronizing?

BTW what do you think about Indians doing the same to themselves? Indians forbidden on own soil! - Hindustan Times

how about the racism of Indians against their own people from NE, or against the Northerns in S.India and vice versa?

anyways I wait for your reply for the sources.

Actually there is some truth to the post. Israel has a huge sex trafficking problem. It actually was aired on the Discovey channel which actually exposed the problem. The Israeli mafia has been linked to it along with the RUssian Mob....
I have learned something new and unpleasant:

'The US State Department on Tuesday published its annual Trafficking in Persons report, ranking Israel in the same category as Pakistan and Rwanda. According to the report findings, "The Government of Israel does not fully comply with the minimum standards for the elimination of human trafficking."' link

My apologies for snapping at you about #7, Raptor. (That doesn't excuse your earlier conduct, of course.)

Listen I never exonerated Indians and what they do in India. That is a problem that is terrible and needs to be addressed ASAP. My folks are from Kerala and I have many , many friends from the Northeast. While there may be instances, its not as bad asyou may think or feel. In fact, I think the Northeast INdians have a lot of potential, are very modernized and forward thinking and are pretty damn smart. I don;t have links as I cannot devote my time, but a search thru google should turn up my some results. But you are looking for only documented sources of complaints. How about take in account, the amount of cases where folks are mistreated and denied entry but who fail to report such deeds? It goes on more than you think bro. In Goa, not many Western women are harassed, so that logic iof barring entry is false. Whats the background for dening entry-----> INDIAN??? Listen, that should not and will not fly. You take a few examples and assume every Indian is racist. However, you fail to see how these foriegn establishments are barring Indian civilians in their own land. Thats against the law, no matter what you say.

US State Dept. slams Israel over human trafficking

The State Department report takes Israel to task for not complying with minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking.

"The Government of Israel does not fully comply with the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking; however, it is making significant efforts to do so," says the US Department of State in its "Trafficking in Persons Report for 2011". It adds, "Israel continued law enforcement actions against sex trafficking and continued to make strong prevention efforts. The government continued to take inadequate steps, however, to identify and protect labor trafficking victims and prosecute and convict labor trafficking offenders in the reporting period."

The State Department classifies countries with three ratings, "tier 1" countries that comply with the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking, mostly countries in Europe and North America; "tier 2" countries that not comply with the minimum standards, and have large numbers of human trafficking, but which make efforts to combat it; and "tier 3" countries that neither comply with the minimal standards and make no effort to do so. Israel is classified as a "tier 2" country.

Israel's "tier 2" peers include Afghanistan, Angola, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Iraq, Jordan, Pakistan, Rwanda, Syria, as well as India, China, Russia, and developed countries such as Iceland, Japan, Greece, and Switzerland

The report on Israel is little different from the previous reports. It says, "Israel is a destination country for men and women subjected to forced labor and sex trafficking. Low-skilled workers from Thailand, China, Nepal, the Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, and, to a lesser extent, Romania, migrate voluntarily and legally to Israel for temporary contract labor in construction, agriculture, and home health care provision.

"Some, however, subsequently face conditions of forced labor, including through such practices as the unlawful withholding of passports, restrictions on movement, inability to change or otherwise choose one’s employer, nonpayment of wages, threats, sexual assault, and physical intimidation. Many labor recruitment agencies in source countries and in Israel require workers to pay recruitment fees typically ranging from $4,000 to $20,000 - a practice making workers highly vulnerable to trafficking or debt bondage once working in Israel. One NGO noted that recruitment fees increased in 2010."

The report cites Ministry of Interior figures, which say that 14,000 migrants entered Israel from Sinai in 2010, up from 5,000 in 2009.

On the issue of sex trafficking, the report says, "Some women from the former Soviet Union and China are subjected to forced prostitution in Israel, although the number of women affected has declined since the passage and implementation of the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (Legislative. Amendments) Law (5766-2006).

The State Department says that Israel government sustained its strong law enforcement progress against sex trafficking and that it also made initial progress against labor trafficking, as seen through the first prosecution under a labor trafficking statute involving a migrant worker. The government also continued to improve its protection of trafficking victims over the reporting period, although it lacked effective procedures to identify victims of labor trafficking.

The State Department advises Israel to significantly increase prosecutions, convictions, and punishment of labor trafficking offenders (including “employers”) and offenses. Israel should also ensure that labor trafficking crimes are prosecuted under labor trafficking statutes; ensure trafficking victims are not penalized for unlawful acts committed as a direct result of being trafficked, such as immigration violations; and continue to investigate the incidence of Israeli nationals subjected to forced prostitution. Domestically, Israel should increase the number of labor inspectors and translators in the agriculture, construction, and homecare sectors, ensuring that they are adequately trained in identifying trafficking cases, and internationally, it should stop the practice of "hot returns" - immediately returning migrants back to Egypt.

Pakistan , Rwanda and Israel in the same category for human trafficking ? Unbelievable . I mean Pakistan and Rwanda is believable but Israel a developed country . you guys need to work on this .

I doubt Pakistan is in part of high trafficking, we know Pakistan is high numbers in terrorists crimes and suicide bombing blast but not high trafficking. India have every right to protect their citizens.

http://tfht.org/about-human-trafficking/faqs/#1

Trafficked women, in general, come from desperately impoverished areas, both rural and urban. Many of them have little or no education at all. A high percentage of victims come from a background of physical and sexual abuse. Most of them are single or single mothers. The average age of trafficked women in Israel is estimated to be 23.

If it is the Mafia who has indirectly occupied these villages, only then there is need to worry. Otherwise it's the foreigners who have made Goa so popular. The sex trade and human trafficking has to be stopped, but the parties must go on.

.
There are indian communities in many foreign cities, i don't see why a few israelis and russians can't "occupy" the villages, especially when locals have no problem. But of course, the drug trade and russian mafia need to be countered.

If these were legal expats, then yes no problem. But they are NOT legal. Most of these folks come for touring and since drugs are so easily available in Goa, just decide to stay back even if visa time limit goes away.

This is violating the national law and is not good for any country.

.
^^ There is a special organization in Israel whose aim is to bring back their citizens who go AWOL after getting stoned & high in countries like India (mostly India)

.
Drugs is the biggest issue. Its rally taking a toll on the youngsters and adults in India. I am not trying to sound like an alarmist but its getting to a point where;s ridiculous. Smoking a joint seems like harmless fun but a lot of folks chase a harder, harsher high like heroin, coke, etc. Don;t forget how popular ectasy is and the Russian/Israeli Mafia is the biggest supplier in the world...
