What's new

Russians deploy aircraft carrier to Syrian waters to increase air strikes against mujahideen

Kuztetsov lacks catapults so its pretty much useless in ground strikes.

I guess it's the first combat deployment of Mig-29K's!

Your pretty much useless in your military analysis :D

I was under the impression that the Su-33 was incapable of launching most guided air-to-ground weaponry.

The MiG-29K would be the ideal platform to undertake this.

I dont see it taking off with bombs. Plus it lacks any targeting pod at all. Plus there are little of at all trained crews for MiG-29K.

The bottom photo shows it carrying KAB-500KR TV-guided weapons. TV-guided bombs do not require targeting pods; and they (MiG-29Ks) can carry such pods for should the need befall them.

The guy is a troll, hence he has been stripped of his 'think tank' status. Targeting pods are not nessesary and I have not even seen them on SU-34s that operate in Syria.

He was arguing with me that SU-24 can not use precision weapons. After I posted multiple sources and pictures of SU-24s with precision munition he still refused to admit he was wrong. He was implying that those weapons were just for show just like he just implied the same thing with the Mig-29.

Yea, they just strapped those on for fun. The Mig-29 also has in-flight refueling capability as well as buddy pods so they can takeoff with a heavy payload and minimal fuel and be refueled in mid air.

It does not need one to drop precision munitions, but there are several targeting pods available for the Mig-29.

What? Russia has been flying Mig-29s since the 1980s. Pilots have been training on Mig-29ks for years now.

They can also refuel each other in mid air or be refueled by a tanker, giving them the ability to takeoff with a heavier weapons load.

U see u know nothing, but attack me. Su-34 have built in pods. These pods are primitive compare to Western but still exist:

I said that in whole campaign which lasts over 9 months there is no evidence that Su-24 dropped guided weapons even once.

Show us taking off with heavy payload.

Yalla show us.

Mig-27K are very different from regular Mig-29.

Au contraire, there are ample photographs of guided weaponry being loaded onto them.
