Russians Accuse Ukraine of Using Indian Students as Human Shields

It will be quite distressing for students and their families who pour in all their finances to cover their education. Now suddenly in the middle of the degree, you have to leave the country with no clue as to what to do next: to enroll in a new degree in India/other countries or to hope for the invasion to stop.
This is the next big headache for these students. Now that most of them are safe, next problem will be the fate of their education. No hope of completing that degree now. Money and years of student life wasted. They will now have to join an engineering college and look at TCS or Infosys in 4 years. Maybe their grad school essays will have something interesting for the adjudicator.

That's a very bad situation to be in. Government should force universities in India to allow them to continue from wherever they have left off. It can be done by distributing the seats across various colleges.

Where will 17k medical seats come from?! I don't see it happening.

The Indian students situation seems to be never ending. It is crazy that India's embassy in Ukraine was unable to convince the Indian students in that country leave by early February. US vacating their embassy there was a dead giveaway. Wonder what these people were waiting for :undecided:
Most of the students were final year students with only 3 months of study. They wanted to push their luck and get a degree. When India operated evacuation flights before conflict only three people were on it

Hopefully this will all wind up in a year and they can go back to their studies. At most it should be a loss of one year, which is not a life altering scenario. But yes, till then living with uncertainty is not easy, and some of these students may make sub optimal decisions

Wonder why no one is talking about this and brushing it under the carpet.

cause it sounds heroic - dying/serving the motherland
and most countries in the world (especially smaller ones fighting bigger countries) would do something like this
Before nuclear weapons my parents generations had to do something similar (not literally fight till the end type of course lol)
My mother tells me a story of in metric or Fa/Fcs (9/10th) a military officer would come and teach them how to hold a gun and fire, some old WWII type rifles so if an invasion happens they know how to defend themselves and if they were teaching college girls than probably doing something similar for men too

Edit - Yeah it was 10-20 day long camp in summer and winter vacation with Lee Enfield weapons training to get extra 20 points

Tldr - it's ok, nations have been doing similar things for centeries
Men have to stay and fight, no other option

Go back where to study?! Universities are all bombed. The lectures may be dead or EU refugees by next year. I don't think anything will settle soon.
